  1. ooops. I guess you do have a method to your madness.
  2. I think you've got these on wrong. They are suppose to adjust from side to side for camber, I think that's why they call them camber plates. Like this:
  3. I'm in on that Convoy too. I think I'm going to bring the BRAT this year. I've got too many things that I'm doing to the Hatch to drive that to the show this year. Also I want to get in that mud pit. It killed me last year to just sit and watch (also a couple of ride alongs).
  4. Yes I can make you a set.

  5. Here are some images of some of my old subarus and some images that I've collected over the years:
  6. Just a warning about the shifter. I'd install your drive line first before you start to modify your shifter. It will save you a ton of time.
  7. I just welded the 2 mounts together. If I remember correctly I did cut up the EJ mount and just welded it to the EA mount.
  8. That's basically what I did. Seams to work alright. I still need to clean it up a bit.
  9. I saw a post on here some time ago with a guy that installed a Honda Goldwing motorcycle engine in his Subaru. I'll do some digging and see if I can find it. Here are some great engine swap & modifications I've found over the years:
  10. Here's another link that might help you : http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=44201
  11. Are you going to build yours kind of like these: Link to another WRX BRAT Build here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58869 Good luck on your build.
  12. Sounds good. I do live close to Fred.
  13. Ya, maybe we can have a fix it party.
  14. Hey Mike I'm going to need you to come over and give me a hand fixing a few things on the BRAT if you don't mind. Let me know a good weekend that you're free. Then I'm ready for an exploration.
  15. I'm Earl and I live in Portland Oregon. I've got a lifted BRAT and would love to join you on your trail finding adventures.
  16. - I used a die grinder on the opening on the EA81 control arms. - 2002 WRX - Legacy knuckles
  17. 1. EA81 Control Arms (modified to fit the EJ ball Joints) 2. EJ Hubs 3. VW Struts 4. WRX rotors/calipers 5. EA81 Tie Rod Ends 6. 4.111 Legacy AWD Transmission 7. Shortened EJ Axles 8. EJ ball Joints I've probably got at least 6-7 different styles of subarus & a VW & Toyota parts built into this 1982 Hatch. It's amazing I can still remember the combination of them all.
  18. So these will be the right length? could you change out the ends so that they are EJ on both sides? $120.00 each is a great price. I'll take 'em with an exchange. I'll let you know when I have the money together. Then I'll ship you a set of axles.
  19. I used a legacy transmission. What I need is legacy ends on a EA81 shaft or shortened EJ axles. All I did is had a old EJ set cut and sleeved. Once I put in the bigger motor I'm going to need something stronger.
  20. I've got it sort of solved:-\, but I'd like a nice solid set. How much?
  21. Good luck with that AWD swap. It was much more of a challenge then I had originally thought, but way worth it. The shift linkage and drive line clearance is very tight so you'll have to get a bit creative when you fabricate that. I had to have custom axles and drive line built too. I tried just about every combination of axles to get it to work, but in the end I just had some EJ axels shortened. I went with 4.111 gears and my hatch springs off of the line with brute force. I hope to put a frankenmotor in this summer too. The EJ22 is fine and all, but I want more power without adding a turbo. I'd also like to move to a 4.44 gear set with a front LSD.
