I know this guy swapped in a WRX motor into his older GL style body. I'm not sure if it was an STI or not but way cool. He also did brakes and suspension too.

Thanks:)

$100 for a set. -
I've also heard of guys putting ej22 heads on ej25 blocks to get higher compression.
-
My partner and I just installed some of our BRAT stripes on one of the nicest BRATs I've ever seen. I think the guy paid a grip for it, but man it was worth it.

The other difference also being that phase I in DOHC and phase II is a SOHC, right? (the head gasket problem was fixed on the phase II)

How easy would it be to swap in a Phase 2 EJ25 into my 1998 Outback? Would I need to re-wire the whole thing or could I just use my intake manifold from my phase 1 on the phase 2 block and heads? Just something I was thinking about when my head gaskets go.

I would think that the shift linkage would be somewhat of a challenge. You'd have to set something up like a Porsche 944 (Long rods and hangers). I’m not really sure how you’re going to get around the motor to attach everything to the transmission. It should be interesting. Let us know how it goes and good luck to ya.

Ya, I think if you go that size we would just cut it all out of vinyl. We were thinking something like 6"-8" tall. We would like to do a run of 500-1000 but we're not sure if we can sell them all. The larger the run the less expensive they will be, but if we only sell like 10 then we're out a lot of money. So we're on the fence about the whole thing. But we could do a hood size one for like $50.00 + shipping. Let me know if you're interested.

Go to Les Schwab. They have great replacement lug nuts that'll work. That's what I did. ($20.00 for a set)

Let me know size and how many and I'll shoot you a cost.

I wanted to see what kind of response I get from these decals before I get a bunch printed up. I have traced out a very clean vector version to have screen printed and contour cut out of a very nice decal stock. I think they will look even better than the originals. What size would be good? How many people do you think will buy them?

If you want you can stop by and take a look at my swap. It might help you out.

I'm doing the same swap in my 1982 hatch. I went with an EJ22 motor and the 5 speed D/R 4WD Transmission. I got jerry's kit and it works great. All of the cables and hill holder stuff went back into place on the 5 speed just the same as the 4 speed. I had a nice one piece drive line made at a shop here in Portland for like $100 bucks. The drive line actually needs to be lengthened by I think it was 4" - 5". I also used M. Rose adaptor plate for the motor. I'm still waiting on the wiring harness to be shipped back to me then I'm good to go. Good luck!

Man I know how you feel. I had someone else on the message board here do the same kind of crap. It's one lie after another, you think the guy is stand up and he turns out to just be a liar. I'm still waiting for my money and it's been nine months. There’s still a little part of me that wants to think that he'll give me my money back but I'm not holding my breath. The think that flares me up is that he said he'd send it when he's got it, but then I see him on here buying stuff. What's up with that? Anyway I wish I could help you too but Medford is too far from Portland. Good luck.

No I don't have to stick them to anything. All I do is take off the transfer tape then lay them flat on the ground and put my scanner on it. For the long pieces I scan them in sections and place them back together in Photoshop. If you do run across them I'd love to see them so that I can match the colors. I imbed PMS color codes in my files so that the printers know what colors to match. I haven't got much interest on here for them but I might invest in a couple sets to sell on ebay. My BRAT stripes are selling like crazy on their and I don't think every Subaru enthusiast is on this message board.

Yes, the EA82 5sp D/R 4WD is the one I'm talking about. There's a dude on here named jerry (bratsrus1) and he sells a kit so that the EA82 transmissions will bolt up in your EA81 rig (shift linkages & cross member). It works great! As far as the RX transmission goes you'll still need the kit but I think you'll also need a rear end from the RX as well because of the different gearing, but don't quote me on that.
-
Just get an adaptor plate and use the transmission from your BRAT (if you want to make the swap easy) or you can go to a 5sp D/R 4wd and get Jerry's kit (100% bolt up). You shouldn't need to weld anything. Everything should just drop right in and bolt right up. Your rig that you’re swapping from is going to be OBDII so you'll have that to deal with unless you swap out the intake manifold and wiring harness from an OBDI rig. Good luck and post photos of your swap. I love to see how other people do it.

Any takers at all?
-
oh, they must have come in different colors. I wonder how many color combos their were.
-
no, those were the colors of the originals, but I can change the colors around to whatever you want.
