  1. I've been working on mine since October. All the mechanical stuff was very easy it's just that pesky wiring. Just pay very close attention to the wiring. I might have mine running by the end of day today, but at this point I'm not very optimistic. Make sure to post updates on your project on the board. I'd love to follow your progress to see what you've done and how you solved some of the small issues with the swap (like hooking up the radiator, your cooling fan, battery location, ecu location, oil pressure gadget, temp gadget, fuel surge tank, and wiring). It's always interesting to see how all the other EJ swappers have got these tasks accomplished. I've seen many different ways to do all of them, and they all work. Also if your doing the 5sp swap you'll want to get Jerry's kit. It's the best. (bratsrus1) good luck, earl
  2. Yeah there should be power to the positive side of the injector at all times and there is but the ground side should not have a complete circuit unless the ECU tells it to. Meaning when I check for power across the 2 pins there shouldnt be any unless the ecu is in the middle of a pulse. And yes the fuel pump relay was working.
  3. I've got power to the fuel pump and it's pumping gas. I'm going to try a new wiring harness. The one I got was really messed up. It had a mess of bad wires and lots of butt connectors & electrical tape. It was put together by a very unreliable board member. So we'll see what happens this Friday when I install the new one.
  4. I have a 1998 subaru outback and the dash keeps making a sloshing sound when I take off. I thought that the radiator was just low on coolant so I filled it up, but it still makes a sloshing sound. Do I have air in my cooling system or a bad heater core? If it is air how do I get it out? (and please don't say heater core because I really don't want to replace it)
  5. For some reason I have constant power going to the fuel injectors and I can't figure out why. Even still the damn thing still will not run. Shouldn't their be a pulse of power going to the injectors instead of a constant (my theory is that the injectors are stuck in a closed position). How do I solve this? (I've already tried to change out the ecu) Another question is: Are these ej motors prone to injector problems? When I went to the junk yard to get another set all 8 ej's that were there didn't have any injectors left. I thought that was weird. thanks, earl bruce
  6. The radio says that there’re 5 cd's in their, but when I hit the eject button nothing happens. Everything else works on the radio. Maybe I'll just install an after market radio. I'll just buy the wiring harness and install kit and be done with it.
  7. that's what I was thinking, but then it's safe to say that the deck is dead.
  8. My mother in law has a 2002 outback with a six disk changer (p122). The cd's are stuck inside the radio and will not eject. 1. Are there any tricks to getting them out? 2. If I buy a replacement radio off of ebay is it just as easy as pulling the old one out and putting the new one in? Or are there a bunch of anti-theft codes that I need to know to make it work? thanks, earl
  9. I got the ax on doing my t-shirts. So I just made a few for my friends and I.
  10. I found this when I was doing my swap. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1164047204042305049ntcJbF
  11. I thought I might ask before I get in there and do it, but it looks like there’s not enough room to get a ratchet in between the frame and the heads. Any have any advice or warnings? thanks!
  12. Done, Registered, and Paid. I've got 3 new subaru guy's going too. This should be the biggest show ever.

  14. I really hope I have my EJ swap hatch finished in time for the show. I just have to figure out that pesky wiring. I'd also like to get a shot of paint on it too. I think I'll focus on the running part first though. I have to say that Jerry's kit worked very well for my 5 speed swap. (100% bolt up) I think it was the only thing that went together right the first time. Is there going to be a mud pit? I think I still have a sheet of mud under my car from last year.
  15. he-he. No, I haven't tryed that yet. I also wasn't sure if it had anything to do with my EJ22 swap. As soon as I get the car back from wiring I'll try all of that stuff. I just thought it was weird that we pushed it up on the tow dolly just fine, but when we started pulling it the back wheels locked up. I ended up just pulling the drive line to make it roll. Thanks for the help, and I try to jack one rear wheel off when I get it back.
  16. Yes, the car shifts in and out of gears. I'll try that.
  17. No one else has ever had this problem? I guess once I get the car running I'll mess around with it but it's the strangest thing. Maybe once it gets driving it'll pop back out.
