Sunday May 21st CROOKED FINGER RUN (oregon)
Pooparu replied to Pooparu's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
It's great for all rigs. -
I know it's far in advance but I wanted to give everyone a chance to fix there rigs and open there sceduales up. I'll be leaving Portland a 10am and heading up. It's not hard to find, Just google Scotts Mills, Oregon, once you get to Scotts Mills there's only one road that gose through the town and look for a road named Crooked Finger. You can only go one way up it and you'll drive for about 10 to 15 minutes untell you reach gravel road then as you get deeper and deeper look for trails off to the left and right sides of the roads. There's tons of trails to be found. If you have any questions feel free to call or post a reply. (503-887-3070) Hope to see as many people there as posable.

Step-by-Step Head Removal EA82 Turbo
Pooparu replied to Pooparu's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I put an EA81 into my 1978 brat that way too. I have bad back problems and I don't want to injure myself. I'd much rather use a cherry picker. Man I feel like an old man. This is sounding more like a two day project than just an afternoon project. It's not as easy as a ford 302 I'll tell you that.:-\ -
Step-by-Step Head Removal EA82 Turbo
Pooparu replied to Pooparu's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well it sounds like I should just pull the motor. My only problem was that I didn't have a picker, but if you're willing to let me use yours that would be great. Let me know the best way to get a hold of you and we'll get together. Thanks everyone for your advise. -
Is anyone aware of a step-by-step way to take both heads off of an EA82 Turbo motor with out pulling the engine? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I thought if anybody wanted to go they would have called, but we are planning on going back up in two weeks. There was some great stuff up there, mud water, dirt and rock. It was just a great day. I'll have to post some pics. I'll post another meet and greet with the details on the next outing in two weeks.

Any interest in a lift kit group buy???
Pooparu replied to Shadyirishmen's topic in Products for your Subaru
Me too. ea81 3d hatch. -
It's just a hair East outside of Scotts Mills. That's cool if everyone wants to go some other place. I was just trying to think of a cool place close to Portland. I'm open for April 23rd if we have something set up by then. I think we should just have a final vote or something on all the places suggested.

Lifting up the rear end a little
Pooparu replied to Pooparu's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I don't have a manual. It's an 1982 Subaru 2-door hatch back. I've checked all around the struts and I just can't see a way to do it, so if anyone has done it please give me a clue where to begin. -
I thought I hear that you could lift the rear end up on the ea81's with out putting a lift kit on it. If so could someone let me know. I don't want a huge lift just like an 1" or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This was my first year and I would like to say that everyone was very welcoming and gave me some great ideas for my project subarus. My buddy and I drove the $500 stock 87 GL, and we beat the ************ out of it. That thing still drove us back to Portland with no problems. Next year we'll definitely be bringing all three of our Subarus to the show. (I wonder if the potatoes ever finished cooking) We also took a few pics that we hope to have posted up soon (is there some sort of folder that people can upload everyone's pics into? I think that would be great so that everyone can see everyone's pics at the same time instead of hunting around for them)

Man I hate AMC Eagles, but mainly because they are the ugliest thing I have ever seen. On the other hand I have had the same thing said about my BRAT, so just a matter of opinion I guess. Can anyone else think of the ugliest car? (in there own opinion)
