  1. No clue. Anything can be made to fit. It would just take time and a welder.
  2. Stock is a 195 i believe. If you think its running a bit warm with that go to a 180 or a 185. I wouldnt go any lower than that however.
  3. Im a fan of gold but then again i might be biased
  4. Where is it gold? All i see is silver. Nice looking wagon though!
  5. I may still come. Im still not set in stone as to what is going to happen this summer. All i know is i do want to see the country by bike or by car. I know my subaru would make it
  6. I recognize those three EA81 "styled" cars Grr now i REALLY REALLY want to go. lol
  7. Front the sound of his post it sounds like he bent the sway bar good meaning something else is probably bent out of wack too affecting alignment. Yes usually a sway bar should not affect alignment.
  8. i have impreza RS seats in my 83 sedan. MUCH better than stock. Yes i had to modify the brackets to bolt in but it was well worth it in the end.
  9. Anti sway bar sway bar stabilizer bar All names for the same thing.
  10. OOOOWWWW i really want to go but im not sure ill be making it this year. I may be on my way across the States on route 66. I wanna see the country before im tied down in a crappy job. What i might do is have carlisle be my first stop or something. We shall see when it gets closer.
  11. This car 2wd? If you want to go about it the other way (dropping the tranny) i have a writeup on how to swap trannys that should walk you through just dropping yours. Its in the USRM under swapping auto to manual (2wd 3 speed auto to 2wd 5 speed manual). I would just yank the engine though. Less time laying on your back under a car and not any harder than pulling the tranny.
  12. Looks awesome..and also looks like your brat is constantly surprised
  13. Still planning on it. My tires didnt show up today though so he wants to install them tomorrow morning. Which means i might get a late start. Ill give you a call tomorrow to see where everyone is at by the time im free to leave.
  14. KYB i would say is just newer really. They are very good quality shocks and struts and make my car handle like day one..but nothing to write home about as far as a super upgrade. For that i would need to cut my springs or get some lower, stiffer springs to make it handle a bit tighter. Still leans a good amount in the corners.
  15. Rear of the car has an XT6 sway bar and KYB GR2s as well.
  16. Hmmm idk. All i know is the turbo bar is def heavy compared to the hollow EA81 bar. I gotta return the poly mounts i bought though. I could not get them to fit so i still have rubber mounts on the sway bars which is holding back some handling potential.
  17. My 83 sedan does it. Weber with a straight pipe out to a high flow muffer. Never did it before when i had the dual cats on it.
  18. I used an adjustable wrench on them. Exactly the same diameter. Took the same bushings too so... I used the turbo bar though since its solid. I figure that counts for something. As far as lowering goes im not sure how u got your front end so low cause mine is a tad higher than it was before (stiffer springs = higher). Maybe your tranny/engine weighs more than mine or something. I only have a carbed EA81 with a 5 speed 2wd tranny.
  19. Carfreak85 changed out just the struts to 2wd and lowered his car .5 inches about. I thought it had to do with the springs but my car is still in the sky in the front.
  20. I finally got around to installing everything I got to finish off the suspension on the subaru. The list of mods is -KYB GR2s at all four corners -XT6 Rear sway bar -EA81T front sway bar (NOTE!!! This is the same exact diameter as a normal EA81 sway bar. I used an adjustable wrench and checked with both lying next to eachother. The big difference is the EA81T is SOLID. Sucker weighs a ton!!) -EA81T front springs..good deal stiffer than stock First impressions: The springs and strut combo didnt lower my car any, at least not that i can tell. Maybe i need to drive it farther than around the block for the suspension to fully seat but something tells me at some point in the future ill be back in there cutting out a half a coil or a full coil to bring it down some. As far as being stiffer its noticable but not over the top. All in all i think it was a wise upgrade. Pictures to come....
