  1. do they make something like this that would be very very small to use to reduce the friction? some tiny bearings. http://cgi.ebay.com/8-ABEC-7-Speed-Racing-Skateboard-Axle-Ball-Bearings-Set_W0QQitemZ150233265933QQihZ005QQcategoryZ36624QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247
  2. Ive been getting this problem on and off for the last few months and it really bothers me. My throttle linkage is binding really badly these days. I think its binding right between the carb body and the linkage. Is there a good solution to this other than getting the stock hitachi cable guide and adding another return spring?
  3. What bolt pattern are they and where did you get them?
  4. Not sure it will be done in time for two weeks. Guy is shipping "it" out sometime this week. You already know what it is though . So.. can I please see the coupe. .
  5. not really. Just the bay of E is all. I could have gotten a complete car for 250. With a 52,000 mile EA81. Car was shot. The engine wasnt.
  6. yup those will fit as well. any EA82 sedan, 3 door, and wagon will work from 85 - 94.
  7. I have a dynomax super turbo muffler and it sounds good. Nice and quiet at idle and then when you get on it...its loud.
  8. The bad thing about rust is its always a bit worse than you expect...well almost always. You have to cut that back to good metal and then get some steel and form a patch and weld it in. Backwoodsboy is the master welder around these parts so he can probably help you better than i can but ive been taking a welding course and am good as long as i dont have to do sheet metal on a car.
  9. GD i have a question for you about sway bars. If the EA82T and the XT6 bars dont mount to the frame at all, how do they do there job well? Isnt the point of mounting them to the frame to keep the rear from..well...swaying? Wont it sway with the bar just connected between the trailer arms?
  10. Couldnt it also be that bolt that goes through the shifter itself? The one that always strips out? How sloppy is your shifter?
  11. i wasnt planning on modifying the tortion tube. I was just going to put a u bolts over it and bolt the sway bar to it. If i could find a EA82 turbo around i would but here in new england they dont grow on trees :-\
  12. I looked on ebay and anything from that company was in the 175 dollar range so im assuming around there.
  13. Im going to side with Connie on this one and say that you dont want to be going from one money pit to another. There could be many things wrong with the subaru that you dont know about. What is so wrong with the elcamino? They should be very easy and cheap to get parts for. Since you already have it i would fix it up and if its left a bad taste in your mouth, find out what you can get for it and sell it and use that money to buy a better car. If i remember right from another post you payed a little over a grand for it. Wait till you have that money back then find something that isnt a 200 dollar non runner. Ive been there many times myself and talked myself out of it cause i didnt want another headache. Just trying to save you from more headaches too.
  14. I think after looking at that rear sway bar and looking under my car im going to attempt to make my own out of 7/8 inch (maybe smaller) round stock from home cheapo or something like that. Bend it to the right shape, flatten the ends, drill two holes and bam..done. Ill let everyone know how it turns out.
  15. Sweet Cobcob. Thanks for the link. Now that i see it i remember that from awhile ago. I dont see why i couldnt find something similar at a junkyard and make it work.
  16. I think thats the right termanology for that 3-4 inch thick circular bar that is bolted to the cars subframe right in front of the rear tires. The reason i ask how strong it is is im planning on figuring out how to set my car up with a rear sway bar and am thinking through ideas in my head and one of them involved throwing U bolts over the tortion bar and bolting the sway bar to it. What do you all think of that? Good idea or suicide?
  17. Less than a month away now . I got a sorta surprise in the works too
  18. Well talking about heavy things pulled, i pulled a Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel off of some ice with my suby. Smoked the clutch a tad though :-\
  19. LOL yea i can. Glad you got another coming in to replace it.
  20. If your interested in a rot free body there is a 91-93 loyale wagon down here in Tolland CT. Its in a junkyard. Its missing the front fenders, lights, grill and possibly the hood now but the actual structure of the car is solid as a rock. I checked it over in all the normal rot areas and its solid. Only has 135,000 too. Bad motor brought it to the scrapper.
  21. I think they were for the STD hatches though i could be completely wrong on this.
  22. If you can do 50 series i would go that route if i were you. It wont be a harsh ride cause these EA81 cars are kinda pudgy if you ask me anyways so if anything it will make your car handle a bit better having slightly lower profile tires.
  23. Jets is one thing for sure. But the other thing you want to keep in mind is whatever adjustment you do to one you want the exact same adjustment done to the other. In other words if your idle screw is two turns in on one you want it two turns in on the other. That goes for the mixture screws too. Make sure to get them turned in the same on both. It might actually make sense if you can to use two screwdrivers and adjust them at the same time but never having run dual carbs i cant say what would be the easiest way to adjust them.
  24. Headgaskets? EA82s seem more pron to blowing headgaskets than the EA81s.
