Paul if thats the car i think it is those seats are not that great anymore. They arnt ripped but they are water soaked and moldy. I layed down a blanket to sit on them lets just put it that way.

whats wrong with the color it is? Looks good to me. If you repaint it u run into the problem of painting door jams to make it look good.

90 or 91? I love preludes to be honest. I looked at one awhile back. I probably would have bought it too if it didnt have rust. It was black with a tan interior and a sunroof. 5 speed SI of course.

Or just buy me a plane ticket and give me gas money and have me drive it back for you

Hahahhaa yea its ok Tom. I wouldnt get much money for the stereo i was selling him anyways. Going stock is fine and all...would i do it..NO. My stereo sounds 1 million times better than anything that could have been done 20 years ago. It just takes some patience and know how to wire it correctly and make it look good. Mine looks like it could have been there all along. If you do decide to go this route I will help you as much as i can and if u stump me Im sure someone else will be able to help u finish it. It really wasnt all that bad. A side note if u still want the stock subaru Head unit, mine is the exact same as the one pictured above. Its a Clarion so it will work with your cassette tape..if your cassette tape works lol.

Maybe this should get bookmarked or put somewhere where everyone can find it? Good info for everyone in this post. -
Restoration project question
hatchsub replied to ShawnW's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
as for wheels i say gold enkeis would look awesome with the gold turbo brat badges and your silver brat (that is the one we're talking about right?). Wheels are something easy to change back to original. As for the tranny..dump that 3at. Its terrible and ruining the true fun u could have with that turbo motor. -

Ill let u drive the sedan...if i can drive the coupe . Eh Ill let u drive the sedan anyways.
-
Hahhahaha u havent seen it in awhile. Its got some nice rot coming in. Almost makes me want to get something else to drive in the winter but i dont have the money and the sedan is great in the white stuff. Cant wait to see you and Jon, Connie. Also cant wait to see your new Impreza...and the coupe when it gets here.

That would seriously suck if my rear wheel wells were rotted out into my trunk. Last i checked they were fine...but then again..i do live in connecticut.
-
Would a leaky rear window do it? My rear window "might" leak. I saw some drips on the C pillars that were old but growing a bit every once in awhile so i cleaned them off and i didnt see anything else and its raining out now. I figured i might have gotten lucky and it would have been some condensation on the rear window dripping down since the drips didnt get longer until wintertime. As for damp stuff in the trunk Jon, my floor matt was frozen about 1 month ago...probably from my shovel.

83 EA81 sedan. I opened the trunk this afternoon and i had little water droplets on the underside of the lid. What could be causing this? Is this normal? The trunk gasket looks fine.

Need Honest Opinion....Reality Check
hatchsub replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
WEBER!!! You know u want to. I love mine now that i finally got all the bugs sorted out. Redline didnt exactly set it up right for me from the get go. Wrong top gasket, Air corrector jets reversed, floats not set correctly...stuff like that. Now that its all sorted out it runs great. SOOO much better than a hitachi or carter-weber. -
Please label these jets.....*w/pics*
hatchsub replied to pyro926's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Ok got the chance today. Switched them the way they should be and retuned a bit for the 60 idle jet that i put in (Ive tried 50, and 55 and the car sputters a bit at light throttle) and wow what a difference. It runs smooth through all RPM ranges...and pulls like a mother when the secondary opens. didnt thing it would make that big of deal but it did. -
Heres mine. I havent updated it in a long time though. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/724118
