  1. 9 people have pre-registered so far, 7 have pre-paid using PayPal, one is sending a money order, and I'm waiting to hear from one on how they plan to pre-pay.
  2. Unless you can be sure that they are the same ratio, yes.
  3. I'm not sure, but I heard that some of the hole in the USDM WRX trannies are threaded, to bolt to an older Impreza, those holes need to be drilled out.
  4. The two turbos on the Legacy are not for performance (as in more horse power) they are to spread the power over a larger RPM range. One turbo is a low RPM turbo the other is a high RPM turbo, on the older twin turbos there was a flat spot in between, but that was fixed on later models. A larger turbo will increase turbo lag between shifts. The whole thing is to over come the interia of the weight of the turbine and compressor wheels. Some of the newer ceramic and ball bear turbos are larger, yet less weight and spin more freely, but they are also way more expensive.
  5. First off, it is an EJ20TT, not a 22. Jamal is correct, they came in certain model Legacys (Libertys in Australia). Do you have the engine now??? Why do you want a twin turbo? Do you know why Subaru used two turbos on the Legacy?
  6. Ken, look again, it also show Zap running in your car.
  7. Over here we do a similar swap with an EJ18 and an EJ22, most people just swap the intake so that they can run on the old ECU. I can't guarantee that it will work in your case, but it works for our senerio.
  8. So those were your TO scores in teh OBS? Did you run in the afternoon? Next time you and Ken should run what you brung, Ken in the red, you in the green. There might be a surprize at the next one.
  9. Sorry, I'm a turbo freak, I've never seen an EJ20 N/A engine, but I do know that they are out there.
  10. I'll bet Ken wishes he could change the TO runs for the scored runs. And who was that driving Zap OBS?? Great times.
  11. Only thing I would add is that there are many 2.0 liter turbo engine numbers, EJ20G, EJ20K, EJ205, and EJ207. Great list.
  12. Thanks Jamie, that figures, the only engine that I hear people talking about is the EJ257 as if that is the only engine. Since most of those people that I talk with are into performance, I guess the EJ257 would be their engine of choice.
  13. It's apparent that you've never riden with me. P.S. My engine never gets hotter the half way up the temp guage, no matter how hard I drive it.
  14. So, JDM engines don't burn oil and USDM engines do? Seems like I'd be wanting to find a JDM engine replacement.
  15. Sorry Jibs, you weren't quick enough, you are the second person to register, someone from NASIOC beat you.
  16. There are a couple of things wrong with that chart, by that chart there were no EJ22 built in 94, it shows a 1600 cc engine built from 80 to 82 and 83 to 87 as an EA81, it would be an EA71, and it shows a 1500 cc built from 85 to 89, the horse power and torque would indicate a 1600 cc engine and the fact that it is in a 2dr would lead me to believe it is in a Hatchback, that would make that an EA71 also. I believe that prior to the XT6 and Justy, the numbers after the letters were the piston diameter in mm's. Although the EA81 and EA82 share the same size pistons, they may have used that 82 to differentiate between the OHV and OHC engines. Prior to 97, the EJ20's had letters at the end to tell what type of engine it was, ie the EJ20 was a DOHC turbocharged engine, after 97 the EJ205 and EJ207 were DOHC turbocharged engines. The engine it the famous 22B was an EJ22G, a DOHC 2200 cc turbocharged engine. The current turbocharged engines are EJ257s.
  17. Gee Noah, mine must be the exception, I don't exactly baby my car, heck just last night I accelerated from a light so fast that the 'G' forces made my wife's back hurt (she had back surgery 5 months ago). I check the oil level everytime before and after an oil change, and it is in the same spot everytime, the engine has over 110,000 miles on it. But back to the problem, have you taken it back to the dealer yet? If not, why not?
  18. Well, I got the PayPal setup today, now we are waiting to Tex to turn on the Registration page, here is the web site if you don't know it already. Check back in a couple of days, it should be up and running. http://www.westcoastsubarushow.com/ Corky
  19. So, where on the web site does it allow someone to personalize that mugs, it goes straight to PayPal when you click the order link, there should be an intermediate page that allows personalization, then go to the PayPal to order.
  20. AWWW so that explains the poor turnout, over cast skies, occassional rain, cold and windy.
  21. Look in wrecking yards, any EJ22 between 90 and 96 is best (non-interfernce engines).
  22. He's running a 96 JDM WRX STi engine rated at 275hp at the engine, not sure about your WRX but if it is USA stock, that has 227hp? That could be the difference. Great job Dave, with a little practice, you might be able to break into the 13's.
