  1. I forgot to add, that my diagram is not for a 1992, it's for a 1986 model. Send me an e-mail and I'll reply with a scanned copy.
  2. Gee, I have one of those in my shed, it isn't that much heavier then the N/A EJ22.
  3. The only one that I have would be for the USA market and I doubt they would help you.
  4. Damn, I didn't realize that I was that strong. I have dead lifted an EJ22 from the engine bay of a car in a wrecking yard into a wheelbarrow I had place beside the car. I doubt that I can lift 300 pounds. I guess I'll stop by Gold's Gym and see if I can. PS: I did remove the A/C pump, P/S pump, and alternator before lifting it, it still had the flywheel and clutch on it though.
  5. Is there some way to loss the text "WASHINGTON"? I think it is obvious what state is it and seems to clutter up the image. If you can do that, maybe remove the text over the mountains also. Since you don't have the original art work that may be pretty hard to do. Corky
  6. Nice Spanky, but it should be WCSS 7, the 2005 should be in the date below Shelton. And why have just the old Subrau emblem, all Subarus are welcome.
  7. Not necessarily true, the 85 and 86 Sedans came in many colors, it wasn't until 87 1/2 that they started making them white. But with the digi dash this is definately not a RX.
  8. At least he moved it to the correct Gen, he had it in 'Old Gen' to begin with. Sorry I mis-read your post, but adding a few word might have helped, like "Found a car, I'd like your opinion on, it's a 1992 Legacy, 2WD, auto, MPFI, nice shape, $1500. What do you think?" I don't think I would have mis-read that one. The early Legacys are good cars. The last time I was in Oklahoma it was pretty flat and didn't snow that often so I think a 2WD would be good enough. If maintained properly, the EJ22 will last a long time 200K plus.
  9. You might want to try a Legacy only site, do a web search. I don't too many of us have even seen one of these in person let alone work on one. I did have one about two years ago, but I never worked on it.
  10. Hell, the short block that I have for free looks a little better then that, I don't remember it being that badly pitted, but it's free to whoever wants it. It is defiantely a rebuild candidate since it has a bad rod. You want it, you pick it up. Corky.
  11. I was lead to believe that any Subaru 5X100mm bolt pattern wheel would work, but then I heard about someone having trouble fitting a Forester wheel on an early Legacy. I'll bet that the wheels off your Impreza would work.
  12. This is the reason why I would have stayed with the EJ series tranny. True it doesn't have the dual range (I'm still working on that), but it more then makes up for that with teh better torque.
  13. Great looking ride, but I would agree with Zap, I too prefer the Outback XT. Hey Zap, I like the body style of the 95 to 99 better, and if yoiu stay away from the Outback or GT, you'll get that good old EJ22 (at least in the 95 and 96 model years). Northguy, it is an Impreza sedan Zap is selling, not a Legacy.
  14. So the pinion gear of the rear diff has ten teeth and it meshes with either a 37 or 39 tooth ring rear, but the ten tooth pinion gears in the trannies are different enough that a 39 tooth ring gear won't mesh with the ten tooth pinion from a turbo tranny? Well I have change many rear diffs to know that that works, but i have never tried the tranny ring gear, I guess because I consider it such a hassle to take apart. So Noah, what are you after, the gear ratios of the RX tranny in a N/A tranny?
  15. Jamie, I take it the site is not up yet. Great to hear that you will meet Auburn's prices. I just wish that I could get web price when I drop by to pick up parts. You guys are close enough for me to do that.
  16. Here is some possible info. BMB 800 North Center Gardner, KS 66030 US Website: phone: 913-856-6550 fax: 913-856-6763 Bmb Directory Listing on StreetPerformance Found it at: http://www.streetperformance.com/parts/bmb.html
  17. See Ed how easy it is to post a picture here. I know I've seen a Subaru here on the Plateau with these wheels. Now I'll be on the look out.
  18. If I remember correctly, it has a SU side draft carb on it, and it sucked through the carb.
  19. LPG is not far wrong, the best way to utilize a carb and turbo combo is to have the carb on the suction side of the turbo (draw through), this requires the least bits of modification. You can blow through a carb, but there are more mods required. One way is as suggested, build a box around the carb and pressurize that box with the turbo, Another way is to drill holes at 90 degrees to the trottle shaft into the carb body where the trottle shaft passes through, you will then need to add a small piece of brass tubing to the hole. Now you will have to bleed off some of the pressurized air before the carb and pipe it to those tubes that you have added to each side of the trottle shaft housing. This will pressurize the trottle shaft and will not allow blow by.
  20. I have a prefectly good hood (not a WRX hood) for your car, it is black though, not sure what a good price would be.
  21. It sound like it might have been wrong parts, but just because you found something that said Nissan on it doesn't mean it is the wrong part. In fact Nissan and Subaru make a lot of parts for each other, I even have some Subaru factory installed Mitsubishi made parts on my Impreza, this is not an uncommon thing with Japanese cars.
