So, is that Friday afternoon or Saturday afternoon. If Saturday, you probably won't make you're first stop like you have planned. -

Just following the title of the post, although the title is very confusing if you look at the pictures. I'm wondering where he was headed with that title? I was stating fact, probably not about this car though. -

I'll try to make it. I think there is something that you want to talk to me about anyway (it's not about the wheels). How early Saturday? -
? Subaruparts.com = Genuine Subaru parts ?
Dr. RX replied to MSSLGECKO's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Check out www.1stsubaruparts.com , go to parts catalog, then input the info (for you 1984 and Subaru), it will next ask for model, select Brat, then select Maintenance & lubrication, then engine service, then filters, then oil filter, you will see that a genuine Subaru filter costs only $5.95 retail, and $4.28 from internet sales. -

Back home now. Richie was awake, and I got to see where his new location will be. Anyway, now I'm home where it is peaceful and quiet. -

I'm here in Sisters now, on my brother-in-laws computer. Well, it's been a year since I've been down here, I'm not surprized things have changed. -
ej+5mt(AWD) in GL hatch Q's

That might work for Fox, but to be on the safe side, you should get a tapered reamer, they are available, but they are not cheap. The best thing is to just get the XT6 lower arm, then you won't have to do anything. It doesn't matter if it is a FWD or a 4WD suspension up front, either will work. -

Well, in about 20 hours I'll betting Sisters Oregon. Looks like Styles and I will get together on Monday. If you know where the burger place by the butte in downtown Bend, I'm hoping to be there around noon on Monday. -
I can just about guarantee that I will drive it before you do Zap. There will be a full report here on the board after the first shake down drive. JWX, when I promise to keep a secret, I keep it, no hints.

So, if the new owner and I are the only one's who know, then maybe you all should let us tell it, and since the new owner still wishes to remain anonimous, I guess that leaves me. UltimateRX has yet to move under it's own power. We have had the engine running several times, but it has never run quite right, our latest speculation is the fuel pump. When I did the WRX conversion on my Impreza, it had the EJ18 fuel pump in it, and it just didn't run right, after I put a performance upgrade WRX fuel pump in, it run great. Since Ultimate is using an EA82T fuel pump, that could be the problem. As for the clutch, it is still a problem, but now I know how to bleed them properly, so one of these days, we'll get that done. Right now UltimateRX is in storage, but I have told the owner that when I get my garage finished, I'd like to bring it back here so that I can finish what I started. That will probably happen in the Spring. With a little luck, UltimateRX might be ready for the next WCSS, but no promises. Well that brings everyone up to date.

ej+5mt(AWD) in GL hatch Q's
Dr. RX replied to 970subaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No, the Hatch as we call it was only an EA81, the EA82 coupe or 3dr is something wrongly called a hatch. You don't replace the whole suspension when you do a 5 bolt conversion, check out my web site, there is a section on it about the 5 bolt conversion. -

Maybe you should look at the Nokia light truck tires. -

My RSi's have a smooth ride on dry pavement, but I used them only as winter tires, I have a set of Yokahama's for my daily drives, I need the performance tires on my WRX. The RSi's have great dry performance too, but are primarily winter tires. They also cost about $180 each (after mounting, balancing and taxes) for my 16" (205/55/R16). -

The problem is that they don't regularly update their data, cars that they show may have been crushed months ago. -

Fox is right on about the axle spines, but that is only part of the conversion problems. The tranny mount is different, you will need to get the Legacy mount and make the rear piece narrower to match the tunnel width of the EA81, the front part should bolt up (but then I've only done this on an EA82 so I'm not 100% sure). The driveline will also have to be shortened, on an EA82 it needed to be 55mm shorter. The rear diff from the Legacy will bolt right into the Hatch. The N/A Legacy's are pull cable clutches just like the EA81s and 82s. An EA81 can be converted to a 5 lug, but requires minor mods, and EA82 series car is a bolt up. It is feasable, these are the kind of projects that I love, maybe someday I'll get all the parts I need to make the EJ20TT powered EA81 Hatch that I started some years ago, but had to sell off the parts. -
Gee, you could have just looked at my avatar.

How deep are you running, I had my RSi's up in the mountains running in 6 to 10 inches of snow with no problem (the bottom of the car was skating on the snow). To answer another, yes the RSi's are the replacement for the Q's. I originally ordered the Q's but was told that they were no longer available and that the RSi's had replaced them.
