  1. For you, But for me going through Salem is the easiest, I've gone the Mt. Hood route before, it take longer then going through Salem.

  3. Gee I have 10 acres south of Prineville, near the resevoir. My sister lives between Sisters and Bend, south of the turn off to Redmond, so would be driving near, but probably not by me (unless we pass each other at Santiam Pass, LOL). I usually turn east at Salem, head up through Detroit Lakes, then south across the mountains.

I think the fuse holder that colorado is talking about it the one that you use to put the tranny in FWD only, usually if there is a fuze in there, it is because there is a problem with the tranny in the first place. I have a friend with the same problem, after checking evrything we could think of, we finally resolved that the tranny needs to be replaced. I was suggest getting one from a year near yours. Since your's is a 95, the first year of the gen 2 (some say gen 3, they think there was a change at 92), I'd stick with a 95, 96 or 97 tranny.

  6. Since I taught the other Corky everything he knows (and then he goes and writes a book and gets money for my ideas), I can't believe what I'm reading here. Skip and Tex are on the right track. The wategate regulates the amount of boost being created by the turbo, if you are set at 11 psi and the wastegates starts to open at 2200 rpm (which I doubt), then that is where the turbo is creating more then 11 psi boost. If you choose to close of the wastegate, be prepared to detenate your engine. When the wastegate opens, it is just releasing the extra exhaust, not needed to create the desired boost, you will still be producing 11 psi, if not, then there is something else wrong. If you are wastegating at 2200 rpm, then that is where you have acheived maximum boost, most people I know would be happy acheiving max boost that early. In my WRX, max boost doesn't occur until somehwere around 6000 rpm, the turbo starts boosting at around 4000 rpm (and you'd better be hanging on when it does).
  7. Oh if only that were true. When I did the EJ20G conversion into an 87 RX, we discovered that the EA82T fuel pump just wasn't up to the task of getting the engine running properly. Now granted, the EJ20G is a different engine then the EJ22, with higher fuel demands, but you can't go wrong with getting a high performance fuel injected type pump to begin with, you certainly are not going to flood the floats.
  8. I believe that is a setting on your computer for opening pictures. On my computer, if I put the cursor over the picture, a tool will show up in the lower right hand corner that will allow me to expand it.
  9. It must be the area, I had a motorcycle stolen in Las Vegas, it was chained to the trailer. They cut the chain and stole the bike in broad daylight. The bike was never recovered.

  11. Well by this time next week I should be in Sisters, visiting my sister (and no I don't have a brother in Brothers, Oregon). I'm only planning to be there Sunday, Monday and heading back on Tuesday. Maybe some of the Central Oregon people can meet me for lunch on Monday like last year. Let me know, either PM or e-mail me. I'll be driving the Impreza down.
  12. The first picture is the way it was delivered from Subaru, the second picture is how it was prepped for the movie. The lighting is terrible, the photos were taken with a cheap camera, but it are the same car. The color of the car is dark brown, not black or grey. The film used was daylight film, and those shot were indoors under florescent lights, ask any photographer, they will tell you that combination will not give you true colors. Quattro San is the car the Jackie Chan drove in the movie 'Cannonball II'. If I remember correctly (and Freak can check the dataplate) Quattro San is a 1980 Hatchback. The photos are about two weeks apart.
  13. Note sure they were an option on the 93, if they were they would have been on the LSi, I believe the bumper was similar up to 96, and I know the 96 LSi had them.

  15. The car is owned by Western Washington University, since it was not officially imported into the USA, it can not legally be purchased or licensed. The car is in fair condition having been store outside for many years. I have some pictures that I'll put on my web site then post links here later. You can see for yourself what the car looks like (but the pictures were taken two years ago).
  16. That very same car is now parked in a holding area at Western Washington University in Bellingham. I have a verbal agreement that after I get my garage built that I can store it at my place.
  17. The Legacy was introduced to the world in 89, but not offically to the US until 90, I'm wondering if this might have been a Canadian import. PS: Ed I never get tired of your updates.
  18. I could have sworn that the 84 Turbos were EA81Ts, and being such would not have HLAs (hydraulic lash adjusters), but they would have hydraulic lifters. The HLAs are on OHC, not OHV engines.
  19. I know the feeling, when I finished my WRX (260hp), I drove it a few times before I took it to get inspected, getting back into abd driving my 86 GL-10 4WD Turbo Sedan after driving that car just wasn't the same.
  20. OK, I'll convert that into USA specs ( ), timing belt every 60,000 miles or 4 years. I change oil and filter every 3,000 mile, but you can change the filter every other oil change. The tranny and diff fluid changes are probably about right, but most people that I know of, have never changed either. The coolant is also about right, if you change it every other year you should be alright.
