  1. How about after we are done, we clean up and go over to Hooters?
  2. Way to go Freak, it's your's now.
  3. It's 5 AM now (PDT) and there is only 5 hours left on the bidding. There is one bidder at $2.50. Even with the shipping this would be cheaper that want we will be asking for the incomplete 1980 FSM that we got from Canada.
  4. Gee Shane, I tried to find a company named Vertex that sells silcone tubing but couldn't. I searched eBay and Google, but couldn't come up with such a company. There is one that sells wiring products, www.taylorvertex.com and another that sells pistons, but none that sells silcone tubing. Could you please check your source again and see if they have a web site.
  5. Well, since I'd be using an Impreza strut, knuckle, and brakes up front, I'm sure it will work in front, but the rear is question able. I had a set of wheels with a +48 offset on UltimateRX (my first 4 to 5 bolt conversion) and those wheels fit fine.
  6. The wheels are JDM STi wheels from 94 to 96, they are 16X6.5's and they are a 5X100 bolt pattern. And yes, they are just laying up against the car, wasn't trying to fool anyone. The problem is that the tires on them are not US models and can't not be legally driven on US highways. There are only two good tires, so I'd have to buy new tires. The problem with that is that I should finish my project car this Summer, then I'll be selling this car. The wheels and tires would add over $1000 to the price. Anyone willing to pay me $2300 for this car with those wheels and almost new tires?
  7. Here is a link to a picture that I took of my 86 Turbo Sedan, with some JDM STi wheels, I wanted to see what they would look like if I used them for my 5 bolt conversion. http://corkysrocks.net/86STiWheels.jpg
  8. You mean like the passenger side doors that I have for an EA81 series sedan or wagon (still have the Subaru part number stickers inside the doors)? Considering that I don't have such a vehicle. So, are you going to help poor old Rob out with some of the parts he needs?
  9. I guess I'm too used to working on EA82s, I saw the thermostat housing (which on an EA82 is in the front) and thought the opening of the housing was facing forward.
  10. Looks good, but I (and this is a shocker) agree with Brian, it should have pointed to the rear. Far less chance of getting water ingested into the engine that way, as well as why Brian suggested it, the stacks will increase torque. I've always wanted to take a MPFI'd engine and install dual downdraft Webers on it. Subaru had such an engine in an EA81 form, it was used on a gen I RX.
  11. Well, it's about damn time.
  12. Rob, I still have some of the reflective gold striping that I used on UltimateRX, I can let you have some of that.
  13. Not sure, but I might have given Ken a rear bumper with the gold trim that I took off of an 89 I found in a wrecking yard about a year ago. He is still having problems with his computer (it was sasser), so he won't see this, you may have to call him.
  14. Why in the heck would you ever put a Ford power train into a Subaru?? If you wanted to keep it genuine Subaru, put a Chevy power train into it. Think about it.
  15. You forgot about the Schuck's Auto Parts store directly south.
  16. Nice, you might want to talk to Ken about the tail lights. Does the replacement bumper have the gold trim line on it??
  17. Is that right where Avondale splits, one lane going into Redmond and the other turns into 520?
  18. Wimps!!!!! Do what I do, make sure the car is high enough in the air, but not too high, get under the car, roll the tranny onto your chest, then bench press the tranny into position. This way you have all kinds of room to move the tranny into the correct position without a tranny jack getting in the way. If you don't believe that I do it this way, ask edrach.
  19. So just where in Redmond did you see this car??
  20. Is that in Bend??? I might have my sister or brother-in-law stop by. I'd like to get them into a Subaru.
  21. One of the biggest problems with conversions is the wiring. I would try to use as much of teh EA82 wiring harness as possible. If you know what year of vehicle the EA82T came out of, you should get a FSM for that year and look up the wiring section, that should be a big help. You may have to splice wires from one harness onto wires of the other to get them to work. I usually get all that stuff together before I start a conversion like this, but even then sometimes it gets very confusing.
  22. Nope, I haven't looked at them, but they would have to have the same bolt pattern as the current rear calipers to bolt to the backing plate. Then it would just be a matter of figuring out the cable runs.
  23. I'm a little miffed at the moment, for some reason my FTP won't let me update my files, so be patient, I'll get the new data on the web as soon as I figure it out.
  24. Gee Rob, I wonder what you next project could be??? I'll be waiting for your e-mail with the data.
  25. No Fox, the Legacy uses a shoe type parking brake inside of the rotor for the rear disc brake. I have looked at alot of rear parking brake setups and so far, the only one that comes close is an early Toyota Supra rear brake system. I have that system that I removed from and old Supra. I need to check and see if the holes in the mounting plate need to be re-drilled to mount on the Subaru rear swing arm. The rear caliper is the same as the rear calpier on the Subaru rear disc brake setup. Then I will have to see how to route the cables up to the parking brake handle. I'll probably have to use the Toyota handle since the EA seris Subaru system pulls the wrong way.
