Hey I've got an xt turbo currently running ej20g engine and drivetrain with an autronic ecu. I have untill now been driving with a stock wrx intercooler In my search for big power I have aquired an new BIG front mounted intercooler. I have also plans for swapping to bigger injectors and a bigger more fast spooling turbo. My question is what kind of power will the stock ea82t turbo fuel pump take?? (I am scared to death about running lean :-\ ) With the moods listed above I will push around 300 horse.

Yup and it looks greate with my 29" super swampers

*sigh* going to take the plunge into EJ swappageness!

My ej20t was running dangerously warm with the crappy ea82t radiator. I would do as suberdave sugested and cut room (not a lot of cutting, it takes 10 minutes) for an ej radiator. -
I used 2 12" fans in front of the radiator in a "pusher" setup on my ej20g convertion http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120034417397&rd=1,1

I now have both an new crank angle sensor and cam angle sensor. The reading at the ecu is around 0.5v for the crank and 0.4v for the cam. I hav checked and dubble checked that all the cylinders have fuel, compression and spark. I'm running out of ideas here. Please help. What can I do?

I connected up the tachometer cable and the temparature sensor cable. Imediate after this the car would not start. I tried disconnecting those wires and replace the ecu but that didn't do a thing. since I've got fuel, spark, compression and air I'm leaning towards that it is an timing issue. But how do i check the timing when there is no high voltage cables for placing the probe? Yeah and I also swapped out the cam angle sensor with an new one (didn't help)

I've recently installed an ej20g with gearbox and rear diff in my xt turbo. It started on the first try and continued to run fine for about a week. but now it wont start!!! it wont even missfire I have got fuel and the injectors are opening I have got spark on all plugs I have got compression on all cylinders I was measuring som sensors and the crank shaft position sensor was pulsing with 0,5v but the cams shaft posistion sensor was only pulsing with 0,2. Could this be it?? Thanks

Thanks will look inn to it and report back

As I'm doing an ej20g swap on my turbo xt I also want the 5lug swap for aftermarket rims. I would also like to use the legacy turbo brakes in the front to stop the bugger. What I undestand is that I can use the Legacy turbo parts in the front together with the legacy axles (I have an Legacy transmission) and the xt6 control arms. In the rear I'm stuck with xt6 parts. What do I need in the rear to make the xt6 hub mate up with the legacy turbo differential? It would be greate if someone could make me an shopping list on the verious parts needed. Thanks

Just scored an 92 legacy turbo engine with the entire running gear. The only thing missing was the gearbox. Will an gearbox from an 98 2l impreza turbo (part nr 8X - TY752VN6AA ) fit an 92 legacy 2l turbo engine Thanks
-
Can I use the front parts (-the controll arm and ball joint) From an 92 legacy turbo?? edit (Sorry didn't Notice the above post)

I have an 92 2l turbo legacy engine (ej20t) without ecu/wiring harness Is it possible to use wiring harness and ecu from an ej22?? If so do I have to modify the harness? Thanks
-
Flere fra skandinavia her?? You can seal up the distributor housing and spray the seals with silicone spray to make it watertight.
-
I already got discs in the rear but maby I need bigger brakes? I was thinking that maby I could use impreza brakes up front and 200sx calippers with e-brake in the rear
-
I'm aslo conserned about the brakes. If I want a chance to get it street legal i need papers that says the brakes is up for the job.
-
Regarding the ej gearbox, is there any differense between the gearboxes on the ej20 and the ej20g? Maybe higher gearing on the ej20t?
-
I'm realy looking forward to do this swap. What kind of modding would have to be done to the rear axles? The xt front axles is a direct bolton to the ej tranny?
-
Well the thing is that i then need a rear diff and new axles. And I want to keep the original joystick lookalike stick

I have an 85 xt turbo manual. Lets say I also have an ej20g with ecu and everything but the gearbox. I know this has been ansvered before but. Can I use the ea gearbox?? I've heard that if I'm going for the ea gearbox I would need a kit to make it fit. What I don't know is what I need to do to the flywheel and clutch. Will the ea gearbox handle the extra power? And last but not least. What does is take to make an ej gearbox fit. Is the front axles plug and play or do I need to have new axles made? thanks

Thanks that explains the rough idle when I blocked it.

When installing an intercooler i noticed this hose leading from the thermostat to the air intake duct (Hose number 7.) What is the intention of this hose?? Can i just block it off?

Ordered a new headgasket. figured out there was stupid to risk a engine over a few dollars and an halv hour work when I already have put over 1500usd and a lot of houres on it.
-
While rebuilding my ea82t i forgott to put in one bolt holding the engine halfs together, the bolt is located under the head and goes from one side of the engine thru the center cranck shaft bearing. Of course i didn't notice the extra bolt before i torqued up the heads. Is the lack of this bolt going to affect the engine? Can I reuse the head gasket if i take the head off? Is the bolt on the drivers or the passangers side?
