what would be a good lift for my wagon (EA81) i want to go big but i dont want to blow through axles or anything, also i was reading about the BYB vs. AA thread and read about less up and down travel and everything, basically whats all that mean? oh, and what about tires, what size could you fit with which ever kit would be better?

i've got an EA81 wagon and im wondering what would be a good lift for it, i skimmed through the BYB and AA lift kit thread, and i read a lot of things i didnt get, like about angles and things, and about upward and downward travel, and im just wondering if someone could help me out a little so i can understand what i'll be getting into. thanks!

nope never driven any other subes, umm i shift into 3rd gear around 35 or 40, and when i said timing i meant when i shift. i think its just me im used to shifting earlier, but how much hp's do EA81's have?

so ill put it in first and go, then shift into second and it drops down in rpm's and then takes a lloonngg time to get up to speed, unless! i hold out and shift at redline (im guessing - no tach yet) then it goes fine, whats wrong? is it just my timing?

ok, haha convinced me, the last thing i need is another non running car at my house. lol

dont steam cleaners work good too? i heard they did, we just go a steam cleaner too but my wagons in the exhaust shop right now so i cant see how well it works.

i have an 81 dl 4-speed, im going to put a 4/3 kit on it with like 28 or 29 inch tires (depending on which will fit) how will that effect my top speeds and power and everything? thanks

what can i get for my wagon to hop it up a little, im getting new exhaust tommorow, but what else is there. its an EA81 by the way.

yeah i was thinking about white and then like the bottom half or like bottom 1/4 of the car go black. and then like the hood black or something.

we use the same thing in my shop at my house, works great though, and its alot cheaper than the real thing

what would be a good color? im in a toss up between blue and white and black

is it hard to paint? cuz i have a big compressor just no spray gun and stuff

i want to paint my car, its an 81 wagon, tan with one blue door and one white door. however i dont have a lot of cash, would it work to just rattle can primer it? and if so what colors are good?

i wanted to get some like 14's or 15's and they would be going on an '81 wagon.

how do you put chevy rims on a sub, I know you drill 'em out or something but how do you get them centered and everything?

what size is the original pipe on a suby? it doesnt look that big?

I dont know how to pm. but yeah all the help I can get, I think it would be fun, there is a few lifted subes here in the valley, a couple wagons, a couple brats, and a couple hatches. but yeah, its got a little lever that you pull up and it goes into 4-wheel drive, and yeah its a 5-speed. thanks guys.

Hey I'm new to the subaru scene. I just bought a 1981 DL wagon 4x4/fwd 5-speed for 75 bucks, and it runs! i thought it was a pretty good deal. now what? where can I get a bull bar for it or lift kits? or if theres anyone reading this that lives by sedr-woolley get ahold of me. thanks austin
