  1. Shoot me an email at subyluvr2212@gmail.com and I will reply with a parts list and prices.
  2. Yeah, they're out there. They make 150hp stock, out of a 2.0 NA, which isn't too shabby. The intake manifold in question has variable-length runners, so it's a very interesting looking piece. I can't find a pic though...
  3. Lemme double check tomorrow when I get to work, but you won't need to put aside a whole paycheck for it. The sensor's only $25 or something like that, and it's easy to replace.
  4. It should bolt in, to your original tranny and all that. But I dunno much about overseas EJ's, so I can't give you any wiring advice or anything like that. But mechanically, yes it should bolt in.
  5. I dunno the other EJ20 engine codes too well, so I limited it to the USDM ones. The EJ204 is the N/A one with the sweet-looking intake manifold right?
  6. Please search, Eric. There are thousands of threads on this board dealing with that. Please ask your question in those threads.
  7. This is the list as best I know. Someone more qualified than me may correct me, but if you don't know for SURE, don't just throw something out there. I got the EA63 and EF12 from the Scoobymods list, as I didn't previously have those. USDM Subaru Engine Codes OHV 1.4L 4cyl ----------------------------------EA63 OHV 1.6L 4cyl ---------------------------------- EA71 OHV 1.8L 4cyl ---------------------------------- EA81 OHV 1.8L 4cyl Turbo ------------------------- EA81T SOHC 1.8L 4cyl ------------------------------- EA82E SOHC 1.8L 4cyl Turbo ---------------------- EA82T SOHC 1.2L 3cyl ----------------------------- EF12 SOHC 2.7L 6cyl ------------------------------- ER27E SOHC 2.2L 4cyl (90-96) -------------------- EJ22E SOHC 2.2L 4cyl Turbo ---------------------- EJ22T SOHC 3.3L 6cyl ------------------------------- EG33D SOHC 1.8L 4cyl ------------------------------- EJ18E DOHC 2.5L 4cyl ------------------------------- EJ25D SOHC 2.2L 4cyl (97-01) -------------------- EJ22EZ SOHC 2.5L 4cyl (99-04) -------------------- EJ251 DOHC 3.0L 6cyl ------------------------------- EZ30D DOHC 2.0L 4cyl Turbo ---------------------- EJ205 DOHC 2.5L 4cyl Turbo (STi) -------------- EJ257 DOHC 2.5L 4cyl Turbo ---------------------- EJ255 SOHC 2.5L 4cyl (05-Present) ------------- EJ253 EDIT: Stupid IE!
  8. My God, yes! Imagine how stupid I felt after doing this on my grandpa's wagon, and that was after I'd already done two previous EJ22 belt changes successfully!
  9. I've done timing belts on EJ22's 4 times, and I've never even touched the HLA's, and twice I've done them without removing the tensioner bracket. As long as you lined the marks up right, reinstalled everything correctly, and (this is important) put at least 100 ft-lbs of torque on the crank pulley bolt - the 80 ft-lb spec in the FSM's is incorrect and too low - you should be set to go.
  10. Yeah, it appears that all 06 2.5i (or 2.5X in your case) models with the EJ253 engine have a "turbo" exhaust that routes in front of the oil pan instead of Y-ing off into the cat. And Subaru now uses ONE filter for ALL 4cyl engines, including the EJ18 and EJ22 engines. OEM part number is 15208AA100.
  11. It's a Subaru thing. Seriously, every Subaru I've ever driven in my life does that. You can try putting new motor mounts in it, that might help a tiny bit, but you'll never get it to completely go away. Just accept it as a personality quirk
  12. I went backwards actually, my first Soob is my 91 Legacy, and my second is my 88 XT. Both have their strong points and weaknesses...
  13. Okay, here's the scoop. Any EA-series engine is non-interference. ANY and ALL DOHC Subarus are valve-valve interference. Yes this is properly called 'interference' because as has been explained in previous posts, serious damage can result that requires the engine to be torn down. NOW, the SVX EG33 is technically valve-valve interference since it is a DOHC engine, but the EG33 was the only Subaru engine to have one cam gear-driven off the other. So unless your cams got out of sync with each other, which is a HIGHLY-unlikely scenario, it is basically a non-interference engine. As best I know (so I could be wrong), but all 97-up NONTURBO Subaru engines (besides the SVX EG33) are piston-valve interference. This includes the EJ22EZ (Phase II), EJ25 (all versions including EJ25D, EJ251, and EJ253), and the EZ30D. The EJ205, EJ255, and EJ257 are all turbo motors, therefore they have different-shaped pistons in the interest of lower CR's that might not interfere with the valves. But I cannot CONFIRM this.
  14. I had my wagon's tranny flushed at Aamco. So far haven't had any problems, but they tried to tell me a whole bunch of BS... "We hear a noise in the front that could be the front differential..." "It's actually the wheel bearings." "Yeah, could be those too..."
  15. It's a 91, no airbag And I am NOT going to sound like the biggest dork ever when I say this, but I always giggle a little to myself whenever I see 1337 writing...
  16. I knew someone was gonna comment about the dust Sometime next month, the interior is gonna get a SERIOUS cleaning, I'm talking an all-day project. None taken. It's okay with me because it also matches the black trim surrounding the instrument cluster and HVAC/radio, plus the black shifter trim too. Also, the flash of the camera accentuated the difference; it's not quite that obvious in person.
  17. You could try, but you'll never be as cool as I am. Because I now have a JDM BF steering wheel! Pimp style: Race style: You wanna know how long it took to install? 15 MINUTES! You wanna know how much modding I had to do? NONE! You wanna know what doesn't work now that it's installed? NOTHING! The horn and cruise work perfectly! You wanna know how much it cost? Well, see for yourself. :D
  18. This is a good thread to ask my question. I've only autoX'ed my own car once, and that was the 03 Subaru Challenge with my XT. Since I've modded it in no way whatsoever, I was in G-stock. My Legacy, on the other hand, has some "mods" done to it, but they're all with OEM Subaru parts. I've replaced the rear 16mm swaybar with a swaybar from a 91 Legacy Turbo, which is 18mm. I've also replaced my stock springs with stock 04 WRX springs. If I'm reading the SCCA rules right, I'm in ST (Street Touring) class thanks to the springs, and maybe the swaybar too. I have GR2's on it as well, but those are direct replacement, so they don't matter. If that's true, that kinda sucks, coz I'm still a novice, and that puts me in a class of much more capable cars than ol' Patti. But as carfreak said, I'm gonna try to learn how to drive professionally and not worry about competing as much, because once I become a really good driver, I WILL be competitive with my Legacy, as it is. Any insight would be most appreciated!
  19. It's possible, but look at my pics. The WRX springs are considerably shorter. So if you were to install WRX springs in the front and leave your stockers on the rear, your rump roast end would be up in the air. You couldn't possibly do anything worse for your handling.
  20. By the way, here's the list prices for those parts: 20330FE861 $75.73 apiece 20380FE830 $75.73 20380FE820 $75.73 20323FA000 $13.68 apiece 20325AA001 $13.68 apiece 20326AA000 $3.87 apiece 20375FC001 $7.97 apiece 20375AA011 $13.68 apiece I didn't get a chance to look up the WRX wagon springs today, do you want me to look them up for you on Monday Steve?
  21. If you want, I'll look up wagon WRX springs tomorrow. I really don't think it will matter. I don't know of any actual differences between wagon and sedan springs in the Legacy or WRX. I was actually going to measure the exact ride height of the car before and after, but I got impatient :-\. I'm inclined to say an inch. Enough to make a difference, but not anything drastic. Which was exactly what I was looking for.
  22. This has been discussed for a bit, but now it can be confirmed. 04+ WRX springs (which are tapered in the rear) will fit 90-91 Legacies (which are also tapered in the rear). Here's what she looked like right after the wheel bearing project. Up in the air!!! The WRX springs are on the left, originals on the right: The WRX springs on the right, originals on the left: Here's what she looked like after the springs, MUCH better: And just today with the XT6 wheels and Yoko Avid H4's: Here are the corresponding part numbers: The springs themselves (04 WRX) 20330FE861 for the fronts 20380FE830 left rear 20380FE820 right rear Front top hats (04 WRX)- 20323FA000 Front upper rubber spring seats (04 WRX)- 20325AA000 The numbers following this are not confirmed to be NECESSARY, but I got them anyway. Front washers (04 WRX)- 20326AA000 Rear lower rubber spring seats (04 WRX)- 20375FC001 Rear upper rubber spring seats (91 Legacy)- 20375AA011 The car handles 150% better. Crisper turn-in, less body roll, more grip. The ride is somewhat stiff, but bearable. I highly recommend it!!
