  1. Another question about my son's 1990 Lergacy Wagon. He was rear ended and the rear bumper and hatch damaged. The next day the air suspension was not suspending anything (see Bouncing post). Could there be a connection or is this just a nasty coincidence? Rick
  2. I bought new struts - gas filled - and assume I need springs. I don't see springs when I look at the existing air suspension. Are they inside the cylinder I see, or do I need to buy springs and additional mounting hardware? Rick
  3. Can I replace the air suspension in my son's 1990 Legacy wagon with regular struts? If so..anything special I need to? Rick
  4. Thanks for both responses. I guess I'm looking for struts. I don't have a problem with used parts - I drive on them all the time. Reading other posts lead me to think this might be something I could do myself. Any insight? Rick
  5. I'm driving my son's 1990 Subaru legacy wagon for a couple days. Without any clear cause - didn't hit a pothole, yada, yada - the car started bouncing a lot. If I drive on a slightly rough road, normal kind of road, I can see the front of the car start picking up every bump in the road and continue bouncing with it. It gets to the point where I'm concerned for his ability to safely drive it. When you apply the brakes, it often "skips" like you were trying to brake over cobblestones. It may be just coincidence, but the light on the height control switch is blinking rapidly. Any clever ideas? Rick
  6. My son has a 1990 Legacy wagon. He says it is making a whining noise when he presses the gas pedal. Could this be the fuel pump? Rick
