i did i pulled vacuum for 1.5 hrs blows ice cold now except it has a tiny leak which i suspect is in the schrader valve considering it did hold vacuum again with the valves open this time so i purchased a uv light and some dye today and am going to recharge it again after it gets low

well i thought about what you said about the switch no going bad often and then i decided to go and attempt to recharge the system and found out that i wasnt charging it correctly and that on the quick disconnects open is actually to the right so it can push the valve down to allow it to enter i used normal logic and thought opening was left when that is close so now my a/c is blowing ice cold after i adjusted the operator error thanks for your help

thats a very good idea i do have a wide variety of bolts i will attempt this

i think i will give this a try i ordered one for a 2001 forrester plug was the same but the tread was a m12 i belive mine is a m10

thankyou im not very computer literate i did do tests with my multimeter ohms and continuity checked the switch the compressor fuses relays and the only thing i didnt get a reading on was the switch so i decided start with it considering they are fairly cheap

ok so i purchased a 1995 legacy for 500 bucks from a friend that he was sick of dumping money in he spend an obscene amount of cash anyway the speedometer did not work and the shop kept changing sensors after i spent time on forums and this particular forum i was able to bug out the issue so i thought i would share my process as to help others beginning with a generic scan tool i received code P0500 and after some research it led me to speed sensors and how to test with a multimeter they seemed to work properly then i decided to buy a much better code reader and it gave me one specific word that changed my direction of solving this issue it stated fault on sensor "A" circuit that one word told me it was not a sensor so i decided that it was losing signal to the speedo i connected to the plug in the dash and the one at the sensor and determined that the wires were in fact good then i connected the sensor and connected it to a drill and found that it was sending the signal and it narrowed my search to the actual speedometer i took out apart the speedo and found a burnt board pictures below hope this helps someone else solve there issue. i purchased a used speedo from shopearl for 65 bucks also sorry i work with my hand i am not good at typing so please forgive my punctuation or lack there of

i just said oh well and cut it out and reconnected the wire seems to work without it thankyou for the reply

im try to track down why my 1995 subaru is not receiving a signal to the speedo and found something electrical that doesn't seem to belong wondering if anyone can tell me what it is
