ea82 runs then dies and has no spark
Turbone replied to slidewaysuby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Its a common problem. The common fix is a new Coil. -
How long have you owned your EA81 / EA82?
Turbone replied to GLCraig's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I dont keep very good track of these things, I would have to look at the registrations to verify. But I'm going to guess:rolleyes: 86 GL-10 Turbo Wagon - 4.5yrs? 86 EA81 Hatch - 9mo? 89 RX - 2.5yrs? 89 XT6 - 2.3yrs? 89 XT6 - 1.5yrs? -

Hey that deflector looks like it would work on my Harley. You can see better with bigger lights, thats my philosophy. -

Headlights on, Digi Temp Gauge RED!!!!
Turbone replied to NuclearBacon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Most likely bad grounds. My 86 turbo wagon does it also, but not to that extent. The more accessories you turn on the higher it goes. Oh, and its not a good idea to turn your engine off at high temps. You need toleave it running and hose down the rad to help it cool before turning it off. You could easily crack/blow something. -
My GL-10 Needs a Roll-Cage *nods*
Turbone replied to NuclearBacon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Cutting away certain areas of the dash might be needed to fit the tube in tight. But that just removes more weight:burnout: -
The time off. The willingness to drive several hundred miles to get there. Not be afraid to mingle with other fanatics (and not make too big an arse out of yourself). But seeing how your not afraid to ask a question like this, I dont see any of these requirements being a problem for you:grin: And maybe in your case, a chaperone:eek:

Not sure on how you would go about gapping the wires in the cap and coil:confused: Your problems could be the timing, the cat converter, or whats plagued older Subaru owners for years. A gutless car.

Try moving both of the S's up and putting a eight on the right side? Hood River above and Washington below. -
Help needed on 3AT to DR swap
Turbone replied to Dylan86GL10's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, there is a difference in lengths. Use the 5spd driveline for the swap. If you need proof, just put the 2 together when your doing the swap and compare. Just make sure you label them so you dont mix them up. -

If the RX tranny has a diff lock, I would use the rear diff as well. And you would certainly need the rear driveshaft if you want 4wd. -

I might be able to live with that. Need to clean it up a little and maybe Qman can work his "magic". -
Gan 2 brat - Surging/bucking problem
Turbone replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Have you done any other tune up stuff to it? If so, I would go with the bottle of dryer. You may have garbage in the fuel system. -
If I put in Dual range Do I change Rear Diff?
Turbone replied to Suzrub's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Usually all 5spd 4wd trannies have 3.9 rear diffs. There is a sticker on the back of the diff that will tell what the ratio is. Unless its a turbo, then the ratio would be 3.7.
