I had this feeling................. Welcome back Zap
-
The year has nothing to do with taking it to a shop and having the axles done. This is a job done by a average Joe mechanic. On the other hand, a turbo wagon for that price seems a little suspisious to me. Check the oil and water and make sure they arent mixed. Ask about how the car was running for the owner to determine the turbo was/is bad also. If it blows white oil/smoke out the tail pipe, the seal is gone on the turbo. Bearings arent normally changed when doing axles, they will last for a real long time, unless the seal is bad and water/dirt gets in there contaminating the bearing. Good luck on it, to bad you werent closer to this side.

Refrigerator in My Driveway?
Turbone replied to Seahag1978's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Our fridges are big and mostly white. A white wagon is refered to as a fridge. -
Hmmm, what did we all do before we had the Net? Qman had a interesting comment the other day when the Board was down. "Lots of work getting done around here today"

Turbone replied to enchained's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Havent found any yet that were different. -
He brought it over to my place today. Man, what a sweet Soob Lots of detailing done to it, lots of suspension goodies. Dad is liking Imps more and more
-
Haha, thats funny. Not to many Soob owners I know have a wad of c-notes to flash around. Maybe a c-note wrapped around a bunch of 1's:lol: Btw, anyone leaving late Sat morning from the SeaTac area? Thats about as early as I can get going
-
Hey, this is Washington, what do you expect? They are going to make a bundle too Last years Show was at a venue where there werent to many other non-soob owners. This year it might be a little different because of the size of the campgrounds. I dont think we will be the only ones there. What I'm trying to say, (and dont get me wrong, I trust most of you) no matter how much you trust the people attending, never leave anything of value in plain sight and in easy reach. Temptation is a powerful thing.

Looks like you 2 need to swap vehicles You do better driving the others car -
My 86 Turbo Wagon has rpm sensor, it will be beep if the rpm's get to high and you are supposed to shift. This is on a digidash.

Carbed 2.0? Dont think they even make one. Its real hard for us to give you any info if we dont know the year of the engine or what car it came out of. You need to look at the engine in the area of the front passenger side and look for a stamp in the block. This should tell you the engine class.

Might try this person for a alternator. Tapper

The computer is under the rear package tray in the trunk, on the right side. This sounds more like a electrical problem than a compression one.
-
Hmm, I could be wrong with the terminology, it could be just a pot. Mr. Radon gave me the unit.

But the car resides in Oregon. The plate on my XT6 is at the same angle too. Helps keep the radar from going back to the source

Theres a couple of people that have stuffed a EA82 into a EA81 body, its not that easy. If you are going to use SPFI, you will need the wiring harness and the fuel supply system. But, if you are going to go to all this trouble, then the EJ22 swap is the way to go. Mudrat makes the tranny adapter for the swap and the engine is a better fit(barely). Use the search function, theres been lots of discussion on the swap.

are XT and XT6 brake master cylinders the same?
Turbone replied to idosubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yeah, I read that over at the "Other Board" after I posted here. Go figure Theres nothing that I could find in the FSParts book, they dont tell you why it has different numbers.
