  1. Tell you what, hang on to it for about 4 more months. I have a settlement coming and I would be more than happy to give $2500+ for it. I think it would look awesome in my driveway next to my stock one and I love stuff thats unique. Not to mention fun to 4X. Btw, I should be sending you a vid tape from the show soon
  2. Hey Kaz, I havent forgot. Its just been raining for the last 5 or more days. Its supposed to clear up (a little) on Wed and I'll try and get the measurements then.
  3. Now thats a thing of beauty Thats what its supposed to look like, after having some fun
  4. There could be some vacume hoses that are leaking that were originaly to the AT. They go from the manifold to the tranny.
  5. Yup, happens with my 86. I attribute it to a possible alt/voltage descrepency. When the injectors dont get a steady voltage, they will not pulse correctly. When I get a new(er) alt hopefully this will cease. A weak coil also might contribute to this symptom.
  6. Theres a couple available in the Tacoma PAP. I could get you one tomorrow when I go there, just make sure thats what you need.
  7. Thats the air mixture adjustment screw. It will change the idle, its the recommended way also. Turn it in the direction that lowers it to (I think) 800rpm's.
  8. If they are going to be machined, you might be looking at between $30 and $50 each.
  9. Besides everything else mentioned above, is the fact that the XT6 has massive anti-sway bars front and rear. The lowest center of gravity of all Soobs and the lowest air co-effiency. Not to mention the weight to power ratio
  10. Ok, are we talking about a clutch replacement or a clutch cable replacement now?
  11. Thats actually the bolt that holds the tensioner. Loosen it and put pressure on the belt, then re tighten.
  12. Keep track of the car. There might be some issues that the "new owner" knows nothing about and just might decide to do what the previous owner did. Who knows, she just might have even been the PO I think taking a car out of someones yard, regardless if its free or not, without the person knowing it, could be construed as auto theft. If you wanted to be a "by the book" type person, this car could be yours still. If you think its worth the hassle :-\
  13. Tell you what guys. When it comes for me to build my fence, if you local guys give me a hand, I'll let you store 1 maybe 2 cars in my yard. Yes, I have enough room.
  14. You mean like this? I went to the site and looked around, but I couldnt find any silicone hoses. Guess I'll try after I've had a little more sleep
  15. Soak all nuts and/or bolts liberaly with vienerslicum and let it sit overnight. The original poster hasnt been on the board in quite a while so maybe someone thats done the job will pitch in as to how difficult it might be. I think the hardest part of the job is the location. Is this the same problem as you are experiencing?
  16. I took a look in my 86 FSM thinking that the specs might have been in "inch lbs" instead of "foot lbs". There are no torque specs for the bolts that attach the oil pump housing to the front of the block. All the specs were for the pieces that are on the pump housing itself. So in other words, dont over tighten and dont use a sealant. I wouldnt put a thread locker on them either, it will need to come off again eventually.
  17. What about the elec hookup? Are you going to have to change it or yours?
  18. Please, no spell checking until you graduate from HS
  19. Can be done by a Subaru mechanic in less than 1hr, unless he is overweight Getting under the dash to the pedal takes a little contorting.
  20. You dont need to remove the engine to remove the x-over. Just remove the motor mount nuts and raise the engine up enough to get it out. Oh, and unbolt it from the turbo. Which is usually a PIA, especially the brace :-\
  21. Jeez, I guy gets something for nothing and the vultures come out of the woodwork Good score, about as good as is gets. Mine ran when I got it but I put new T-Belts on it to be safe. The most work I had to do on it was a major cleaning.
  22. Thats a good point about the exhaust ports, altho I think if you stayed mainly in the rim of the port you might be all right. Delta Cams is in Tacoma, should be in the phone book or someone here will have the #. NorthWet, you need dead heads? I got a few, you can grab one when you come pick up that TC
