  1. The grills are different from 87 up. So a grill from a RX might fit on a car thats a 87 or newer, but not on something older.
  2. It looks just like the one on my 89 RX. And those plants growing in front look suspisious
  3. If he broke the bolt off in the crank, then its tighter than a .....well, you know. And its not coming out with a screwdriver. Can the pulley be removed? If you can get it off you might be able to get ahold of any material left with vise grips. If not, the only recourse is to drill it till theres not much left of the bolt, then pick out whats left. You must be very careful not to drill into the crank tho If this doesnt work you will need to pull the motor and take it to a machine shop. I had a quote last week to remove a intake bolt from a head. The carbide bits are $15 each, and the labor is around $45 +/-. Good luck.
  4. C'mon up to Evans Creek on Sat. Lots of easy dirt roads and some difficult ones also.
  5. And dont forget that Subaru calipers dont compress in, they screw in CW.
  6. Negatory. The front diff is seperate from the tranny and can be removed. It will be a PIA to get back together because of the plumbing and gaskets. I looked into this when I was having so many problems with the 3AT in my T-Coupe. The front diff can be replaced when it starts eating up govenors. But it was easier just to replace the whole tranny
  7. Hmm, fly there and rent U-Haul truck back? Or, take a bus and rent a truck back? Check the classifieds for anyone going to C Springs and needs a co-driver, then rent truck for return trip?
  8. They usually last longer than the rest of the tranny
  9. It probably means, when the weather starts to get colder maybe your choke wont work properly
  10. Heres a link on Turbo's... Turbo types The XT6 flywheel is what you want, I believe. Dont bother with Accel, to many going bad. MSD is a good choice. Spider intake from a XT (Some have them, some dont. One from a turbo is prefered. A IC from a WRX works great with the spider intake. 3in might be a little big, 2 3/4 might work better. You want drilled discs? Go for it$$$ Not sure on the fuel cut to boost ratio. You can have fuel cutout with normal boost, sometimes. Hope this helps.
  11. Its most likely the Governor. Its on the right side (passenger) of the tranny and looks like a big cup. Remove the 3 bolts and pull out the gear. Cleaning sometimes works, but most times a replacement will have to be made. Go to your local wrecking yard and look for any Soob from 82-92 that has a 3spd AT in it. They should work, altho I would try and get one from a later model.
  12. Hmm, well. I think the person with this great idea should supply transportation for all wishing to go On the other hand, I dont think its to late to book a flight to make it here by the 27th.
  13. Not to bad. That should be easy to clean up. Heres what I had to start with on my EA82T. EA82T dirty EA82T clean I have some pics of a EA81T that was in real bad shape, but it cleaned up and ran good (before I blew a hose then HG).
  14. I bought 2 Titanium bits today, they didnt have any carbides smaller than 1/4in. Took the head to work and clamped it on the drill press vise. Absolutely nothing. Actually broke both bits One of the guys at work tells me that a local Napa store has a machine shop and the guy can do anything. So the heads going to the shop, aint got time to mess with it anymore. Besides, it has 1 easyout and 2 drill bits stuck in that little hole. Hope he can get it cleaned out with out screwing up the hole
  15. My FSM, sections 2&3, that came with my 86 T-Wagon are in the same condition. Pages are like new but they are falling out. I was thinking if taking them to a printer and having them re-bind it, but after all this talk of scanning and such, I might reconsider
  16. Hey Tex, how bout some more info on the charity show this Sun? I would love to cruise up in the T-Coupe, just to let them know thier roots. Oh, I'm sorry Will. Forgot to say that I'm behind you 100%. Well, maybe in front
  17. And it really is ok to start a new thread to ask questions
  18. Could you be a little more specific on what parts you need?
  19. The Turbo digidashes are actually hard to find. I've swapped out a couple of non-turbo's in my T-Coupe, and they have worked fine. Its just the turbo light in them that makes them different. Anything over 14v is not good for any system. Keep it there for long enough and serious problems will occur. The whistle from your dash is supposed to be a warning of bad juju from the alt. If you have nothing on your dash and its still whistling Dixie, its gone. But there is hope! I have a aircraft electronics tech working on repairing bad dashes, hopefully soon there will be some available for everyone. They will be upgraded also, so that instead of burning up internals, it will just trip a breaker or fuse. If you get this JY dash, make sure you can return it if its bad. If not, shoot it my way and it will be put on the repair bench. I just bought one a few months ago, but for the life of me, I cant remember what I paid for it It was cheaper than $50 tho.
  20. Well dont feel to bad, or all alone. Went to install a head I picked up recently and just now discovered a broken intake bolt. It had 1/2in sticking out, I thought, ok no prob. Gave it a couple of raps with the hammer and vienerslickum, put the vice grips on and commenced to move it back and forth. After about 10 min with no movement, I gave it a little more pressure and it snapped. Ok, now I drill it and put in my easy out. Same procedure, lube and turn very carefully. SNAP! !@#$%^&*(BEOTCH! Not even enough there to get a grip on to remove. So I get a real small bit and drill alongside it. Got one hole drilled and went to drill another. Got halfway and it snapped. Ok, now its time to quit until I can decide on what to do next. The head is just got 2 bolts holding it to the block, so it can be taken somewhere to be fixed. But I sure didnt need this to slow me down, I'm working as slow as I dare now. I only have 3 weeks before the show, darnit.
  21. Ahem...Qman, the only times I see you in it, is when your trying to find out whats wrong with it But seriously, for a Honda its pretty quick. And loud. I find it hard to believe that your Turbo Legacy cant keep up with it :-\ But back to topic. When $ flow gets better for me, I will be doing a few things to "Sid" to make it a tad more quicker. Will, better get on the ball. You too Caleb.
  22. Thats because it was disconnected and you got it hooked up now. If you have more questions about Turbo's, I would suggest this web site for some good reading. How Stuff Works
