  1. Eh, my bad, been a long day. The FSM says to turn one full turn CW (360). The flywheel marks and cam sprocket are supposed to be in their normal positions, cam mark up and flywheel marks (not timing marks) centered. Edit...This is for only the left side, once you determine if the right side is on correctly.
  2. Yup, start kicking First of all, when you start this process, the crank needs to be lined up with the 3 small marks on the flywheel. These are not the timing marks. When you see the timing marks, keep turning the flywheel (CW) till you see these 3 lines. After you install the right side (driver) belt the crank needs to be turned 180deg. You need to make sure the left side (pass) valve train is at the compression stroke, with the dot on the cam at the top. This will put the right side cam mark pointing down. Now you install the left belt, and it should fire right up. If you havent removed the Disty, it shouldnt take much to time it. To make sure you have the drivers belt on right, just make sure the cam mark is pointed straight up, and that the 3 lines on the flywheel are showing.
  3. If you crank it over a few times then remove a sparkplug, you should be able to tell if those cylinders are getting fuel. Are you sure you got the timing right for the belts? (I had to ask) It could be that the belt was put on when the cam was in the exhaust cycle, not intake (compression).
  4. Craig, I didnt see your post till now. I went to bed early so I could get up in the morning. Those were some of the worst track conditions I've seen yet. I'm real lucky I didnt toss a rock into my engine It was drier than the Sahara today and when the truck finally got out there the track was wet for maybe 3 runs. My times werent that great, but not that bad after a 2 year hiatus. My fastest was a 1.21.+ but it got worse after that. It was hard to carry any speed into the corners because of the ruts, and if you did it would just throw you out with no control. To much air, it was a fast track. Hopefully the one in Brooklyn will be better, I would like to be there. And the T-Coupe ran great, I just need to make some mods
  5. Doh! Hate it when that happens  If you look at SubyStyles pics link up above, you will see what can be done. And yes, it needs to be made to fit.
  6. Do you have a donor car? Just transfer everything over if you do. Might try a search also, its been a topic in the past.
  7. I agree with Morgan, on all counts. What are you running for fans? I think you were considering this when you were putting the engine in a while ago.
  8. Hey, the T-Wagon "race?" was in a straight line on the street. Cant compare that to the track :-p I'm itching to race, its been 2 years. Should have been running the T-Coupe, now that its got some beauty marks its not a biggie any more. If anyone remembers WCSS3, I ran on Sunday's Fun Run. And I had the fastest time out of all classes. This time I have good tires Oh, and while cleaning out the car today, I had to get rid of 3 hornet nests. Only got stung once;p
  9. I do have more parts for the Hatch (doors), just need to come get the stuff. I think thoses tires have been on 3 or 4 Soobs now. They are outlasting the cars
  10. Start looking for a 5spd D/R to put in. Sounds like the tranny went south.
  11. Qman has over a 100hp in his EA81 Rally Brat. Do you want to argue with him?
  12. Negative on the glove box, or any other place inside. You will get sick from smelling gas fumes Qman had a snorkel on his hatch, I'll see if I can find some pics.
  13. I already have a "hoard" of Alloys (no 14's), but I am missing a few to make comp[lete sets. I'll need to take a count when the sun is up and edit my post. But I'll take any centercaps you might find. Shipping will be a bit cheaper too
  14. Put your reading glasses on Corky He asked when , not what.
  15. Did you put the old coil back on and try it? Dont even need to attach it to the fender, just hook the wires up. Ignition switch problems are common with the 84 and earlier cars, but can go bad in later ones too I guess. You can take of the plastic covers on the steering colume, then on the left side is the back side of the switch held on by 2 screws. Remove the switch and turn it manualy with screwdriver, coin or key.
  16. Looks good, but needs improvement. Like ... "Made in Japan" "Modified in America"
  17. Whats the timing set at? Qman had to advance his to (I think) 18deg with the Delta cams.
  18. Yes you can put the 2wd tranny in, and no you cant put the 4wd part on the 2wd part. But, it sounds like the front diff went out. If possible you might be able to replace the front diff with the one from the 2wd. I'm not 100% on this, I'm sure someone here will say yea or nea.
  19. A suspension lift puts to much strain on the equipment, thats why we dont do it. As for the pic up above....ewww
  20. I know you may be tight for money, but its a good idea to replace the water pump when you do the belts. It saves alot of headaches down the road. Alot of us will do a complete re-seal of the front when the belts are changed. Not necessary tho, unless you have alot of leaks.
  21. No, horizontal or vertical. It seems the coils do not like being placed horizontal, the fluid in it will not cool properly.
  22. Do you still have the old coil? Try putting that back in and see if the problem goes away. I say that becuase we having been having a unusual amount of failures with Accel 8140 coils. It may be because of the direction of placement, this hasnt been determined for sure yet. There are some that havent had any problems with the direction of placement, but I think they are older models. Anyways, try using the old coil and see if this works. If not I guess you need the part # for the transistor (which I dont have, sorry).
  23. You may have loosened the pipe to the WP. All it has to seal it is a O-ring. Its held on by a bracket on the head I believe, so remove the bolt and hose clamp at radiator. Then pull the pipe out and use a small amount of sealer and see if the parts store can get you another O-ring. If this doesnt do the trick, you need to remove the T-belt cover and see if the water is coming from the weep hole on the WP. If so, it means you need a new WP.
