  2. Put some miles on the SVX today, I'm up to 10mi since the resurrection. Had to replace the MAF on it last week, it would only run for 5sec then shut down :-\ The Select Monitor borrowed from capt_r allowed me to track that problem down, thanks Abe! On the search for a MT EJ starter for my RX now.
  3. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/2749230187.html This was a donated vehicle, I predict this will not end well. To the OP (if you come back)......Why would you buy this?
  4. After you updated this I re-read the title and your first post. You done messed up. You asked about Gen 2 Subaru's and got responses about those, when you were actually talking about Gen 3's(?). You need to read my write up about doing HID's (with projectors)in a Gen 3. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=125187&highlight=Turbone
  5. Apparently he's had a EA82T before - http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=126521 But its also apparent that he's a one hit wonder. Meaning he will start a thread and never come back to to answer a question. So, we will probably never know what happens when he picks this up and tries to make that 2000mi trip from LA to WI.
  6. Yup, and add in the timing belts, flushed radiator, a recent tune up, tires....and the list goes on. If you do decide to drive it back to WI, get a list of members that live along the way, you will most likely need it.
  7. Subaru's need grounds every where. Engine needs a grnd to body, battery needs grnd to body, ecu needs grnd to body, dash needs grnd to body......I could go on
  8. Nope wont work, linkage is different.
  9. The answer to all these questions is EJ. Theres all kinds of options with gears and clutches. You wont get any upgrades with the old EA trans, been there already. And its not going to last very long either, I've been thru 2 RX trannys in 1yr. I'm just now completing my EJ trans swap and should be back on the road is about a week.
  10. Your welcome to come up to my place, its only 30mi away.
  11. Actually, I just re-installed the a/c in my RX. Being a black car it needs it, plus power isnt a issue any more
  12. I would like to see vid of this when its up and running (racing)
  13. Could very well be a grounding problem if the car is close to the sea. If you look at it, get underneath if possible and look for rust. Also check out the inner fenderwells.
  14. Remove the belt, then take a measurement without the a/c for a new belt.
  15. ^^ Right after I got it. Proceeded to get it muddy and got stuck, big thanks to Qman for getting me out :-p
  16. If you look at the rear gate lid on the right it says SUBARU GL (or DL).
  17. Yes, there was a RS built in 90. None of them were turbo and they look just like a RX.
  18. I would soak it good for a while with PB Blaster or Yield if you can find it. While its soaking, take a center punch and rap the heck out of the bolt head. Then spray it some more. When I have something like this I like to give a little tightening twist, then back it off. Do this a few times while rapping it with the center punch. If it does snap off, do what Gary suggested with drilling it out.
  19. After reading that thread and seeing the pics it looks like the honda caliper is the same as the nissan one. Probably easier to find than the nissan 200sx, but I'll be damned if I put any part that came off a honda on my car :-\ And Imp cables and brake handle should work, I'll find out soon enough. Getting rear caliper brackets shouldnt be that hard, theres still lots of GL10's and turbo's showing up in the yards and here.
