You will find most of your questions answered in this sub forum. If you look for threads started by me, you will the write up about the EJ22T swap I did in my 89 RX. If your smart, you will leave the engine stock as it has plenty of power for the RX.

WCSS16 - 8.16.14 - Pt. Townsend, WA

Yes, they have showers -
I'm going to miss Ed...a lot. Been wanting to reply to this all week and still cant really put my feelings into words. Losing good friends is a fact of life the older we get and makes us aware of our own mortality. And it sucks.

Oops, without actually tearing into the trans I'm sure you're correct
-
Like Ski said earlier, the lifted rigs with a divorced t-case use RWD. My lifted hatch had this setup, but I went thru 2 trans because I stripped the teeth of the ring gear. With the EJ trans, the center diff can be welded which allows all power to go to the rear. I'm going to use this setup on my upcoming project.

Why not just call them? Ken (or John) can answer all your questions.

Correct on the front struts. The plug for the rear is under the back seat I believe (its been a while since I've had a gen 3 wagon)

fuel pump pics and prices and octane rating
Turbone replied to jono's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The fuel prices in Oz have ZERO bearing on what we pay in the States. Sorry -
Mounting fog lights to 3rd gen bumper?
Turbone replied to SmashedGlass's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I made some brackets and mounted mine where the turn signals went (now located in the cornermarkers) -
Not sure if it will work or not, guess theres only one way to find out. And all you need to do is replace the stock up pipe flange with one for a TD05

Nope, swapping x-member and suspension is not a feasible option. But theres other ways to skin that cat. Theres several threads in this forum that relate to this swap, start doing your research. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/107157-my-ej22t-swapand-a-few-issues/

Subaru Brat ea82 turbo bastard project
Turbone replied to cookiemonster131's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
This is Garner's old Brat, he passed away a few years back. Then another guy bought and posted frequently here for a while about getting it running, progress etc, then he dropped off the map about a year ago. Now here it is again. Hope you have better luck. Unfortunately, the old site lost the photo album. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/13101-ea82t-in-gen-1-brat-its-in-there/?hl=garner -
Might move it up a few degrees to see if it stops. A few isnt going to hurt anything but might get rid of the ping.

I just started researching glass polishing. Considering you need to remove a lot of material at first, all the flutes and ribs in a 3-4in diameter, its a lengthy process. You should be able to get 3M products in Oz or at least get them shipped from a lot of suppliers in the US.

Separating EA82 headlamp asembly
Turbone replied to MilesFox's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You can pull the unit out after 10min to see if they will separate, but I did crack one not letting it cook long enough. Thanks for showing us how brilliant you are. -
Most flywheels get redrilled on a mill. Check with Scott (SJR) and Gloyale, they might be able to help out. A EJ clutch disc can be used along with the pressure plate from a XT6, it will help a little.

Give us a night shot so we can see it better I got something in the works (again) for the corner marker on my RX.

I use a pad attachment from Griots for polishing glass. It hooks up to drills etc. You can also buy the pads from them, but they arent cheap. I start with 3M 60grit sanding discs and work my way up to finer grit, Then I use a variety of compounds, ranging from rubbing compound to glass polishing compound also from Griots. When you first start grinding the glass down you MUST wear a mask. Breathing in glass dust will cause irreparable damage to your lungs. Polishing wont create dust as you add water to the compound while working. http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/3+inch+glass+polish+pads.do?sortby=ourPicks&page=2 http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/glass+polish+8+ounces.do?sortby=ourPicks Gloyale, the EA82 DL has the quad headlight setup, I think thats what Shorty might have been talking about.
