Don't know how exciting this is for everyone, but I'm thrilled. The dealer found me a new taillight lens and new door handle trim. He could only find it in black, but I figured that was ok since bottom panel is also black. Got it put on yesterday and I think I like the black better that the original brown. Little by little, it's getting there. Also, I picked up a parts car (thanks to Eli) with blue interior. It's pretty much shot inside, but the handles are good. Anybody looking for em? Don't know if it makes a difference, but it's a '79.

Arivaca Lake sounds great to me. All in favor, do the Banana Dance (had to ad that in since I just realized where it was). I'm off Fridays and Saturdays, so those are good days for me, but if another day is preferred, I can take it off.

Seriously, let's plan something this month. Anyone have any ideas?

Of course, I meant ALL Arizonans (and anyone else who wants to come). How about anyone who wants to come to Arizona and have a wild west Subaru jamboree?

I'm going to kep this active until we get some Tucsonans together for our official TucSoobecue (maybe we can get a better name)

I'm in. As a matter of fact, I was talking to Gar today and he said you were a "great kid". Looks like you're in.

Are there ever or does anyone want to start a Tucson Subaru Event? Maybe a Suby cookout (food not our cars) or something.

Anybody have a picture of their exhaust?

I just took a couple of pics. If you let me know your e-mail, I will get them right to you. -
Right now I wish I lived in Walden. It would be a hard to choose just one. Those are awesome cars. I say "keep them all".

Finally, a picture of my Brat

Hello fellow Subaru drivers and owners

Fellow newbie here. I got my first Subaru (1978 Brat) two weeks ago and am now looking for a spare for parts. Not only are the cars addicting, so is this site. I have already met a Soob couple here in Tucson. -
This is it. I love this car!! The interior is brown and black and is in pretty good shape. The driver seat frame was broken, so my husband took it apart yesterday and welded it. Now it feels like new. The AM push button radio still works, so I decided to keep it (actually, I kinda like it). The muffler had to be repaired, rear shocks replaced, new tires (185 70R 13) and beauty rings. There's still a few things to do, but not that much.

This is a bit off topic, but how did you put your pictures in the message body? I have been trying to do that, but can't figure it out. -
I think that's the problem. I kept telling them that I want a GOOD speaker, but I don't think they understood. I asked to hear what it sounded like, but they didn't have connected. It sounds like it's pretty weak. I'll wait till after the weekend and go back to see what they say.

Well, I had a new speaker put in and I'm not sure about it. I was all excited when I picked it up, but I think I will end up having to take it back for a different one. It sounds great if the volume isn't too high. But, when I turn it up a little, it sounds like crap. All fuzzy and blurry sounding. A bit of a disappointment.

Does anyone know what size speaker is in the dash of a '78 Brat? I am replacing it, but don't want to change anything else. Thanks

Hey, I just got off and wated to call you. I'm glad you're up. I was hoping there might be an easier way, so that I could post them while I was here(It was pretty slow tonight). Is it ok if I call you now?
-
OK, I want to post pictures of my Brat and was hoping I might get some pointers. Do I need to host them on a web page (I hope not), is there a size that works best, or anyting else I might need to know. Thanks

That is so awesome!!! I just got my first about a week and a half ago and I love it. I hope your brother has fun.

Needed parts for '78 Brat
YellowSub replied to YellowSub's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Thanks, I appreciate any help. Let me know how much and I will get it to you. -
First, I am new to USMB and want to say "Hi". Second, I am in need of a few parts for my new Brat. Does anyone know where I can get the interior door pull trim (left & right), a riight rear tail light lens, and both shift lever knobs? Any help is greatly appreciated. Third, thanks to Subaru3 for telling me about this site. Marisa

Do you still have the Brat top? I just got a '78 today. I am also in Tucson.
