Show off your roos Mileage!
jeffast replied to beataru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
my xt6 has like 160,000 on the body, like 120000 on the motor, the trannie is like 245,000. and my s-10 blazer has 195000 on it, and like 20 subaru mile when the fuel pump went otu and i had to tow it home with my six -
thats what i looks like from the pictures
-
all the ej 5spds are the samew as the 80's trannies, the six speed is a whole different animal way more durable and nearly impossable to destroy from what i've heard, whereas the 5spds are thought to have a glass jaw by most wrx owners, just my two cents

watercooled turbo vs. no water? (1984 EA81T)
jeffast replied to baccaruda's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
synthetic oil won't help thats a myth, it won't hurt the turbo much, but i will severly decrease it's lifespan, i strongly reccomendrunning the coolant lines asap but it wont hurt it to do a little driving, but be careful as the turbo will be very prone to overheating, not the engine just the turbo, which will cause the oil in it to burn up and fry the bearings, and leave sludge in the turbo if it was my car i wouldn't do it unless i had to as a last resort. edit: no an intercooler will only help the engine keep cool not the turbo
