  1. check for arcing the easiest way is to drive to a parking lot or back street with no lights then open your hood and watch the wires to see if it is going around the boot my friends gl was arcing around the boot to the block
  2. to go totaqlly in sane i reccomend replacing your origonial morot with an er33 and super charging it. serously don't to add power i would do an engine swap to an ej82t but that would require some funding and technical know how and the proper tools other wise a complete tune up and new fuel filters would be a good start if you keep your current engine

  5. just to leave this on a good note put in new wires and pl;ugs no more problems with missing comporession tested at 120 all cyl and the alt is acting weard but staying within paramaters so i am not to worried at this point if it blows a fusable link or goes under 12 or over 14 i'll start worring about it but for now i am more worried about cooling
  6. have you replaced the seal on the water pump?i have a small leak in the pump could it be suck ing air or losing prime
  7. i am having the exact same problem as he is and i just put a new raditor and thermostat in my xt-6 mine is not over heating but it seems to get hotter than it should with a brand new raditor, compression tests at 120 all cylenders no coolent loss except a teaspoon evrey 2-5 weeks leaky bolt on the pump no big deal

  9. i am replacing the fusable link asap for some unknown reason the alt decided to come back from the dead but it is acting up really badly flickering lights weard noise the power gauge jumps around at idle sometimes weard what other cars can i use the alt off of i cannot afford new parts
  10. now it has really esclated i believe that my voltage regulator is totall fried i mnoticed a few nights ago that the voltage was under twelve i stopped staired at the engine then figured better go home made it home no prob the next day going to work 15 + volts the whole way to and from work i went out that night to do some tuning the voltage went to twelve after about five min of 14 volts then out of no where about ten minutes later the engine starts having trouble firing i pull over it dies completely not even enough juice to turn the engine over got towed home recharged the battery car runs fine exibits the same high low symptoms in voltage HELP!!!
  11. my alternator just quit i had to call my buddy to come tow me home with his ford minivan for shame for shame any way how much is this going to run me
  12. let me clarify as well i would have checked compression off the batt but the problem is not constant i twill run fine the whole time i drive it somtimes others it will be choppy the whole time i assumed it was missing from the symptoms,it was acting like my blazer when it was missing i have not figured out how to remove the panel the computer is under so i have no clue what it will tell me also thanks for all the help and advice

  14. i am planning on checking the compression when i replace the plugs my finances got in the way of me pursueing this problem (the brakes went on my daily driver)as far as checking for a spark what the hell back in 30 min
  15. could we hear the whole story of what happend to the jeep also that is a steal
  16. incase anyone cares i found out i am driving on five cylinders not sure of the cause checking disty and replacing cables and plugswhat fuel system cleaner to use

  18. the solinoides are there but some moron cut all the wires and removed the hoses i have not checked the compressor or the comp thx for info also will the air struts off of a plain xt fit the six what about the air struts off other models?
  19. my xt6 came with air suspension from the factory but someone removed it i need som schetmatics to figure out what i need to get it back up and running also the air suspension light does not come on so i think it has been cross wired any help here would be hot
  20. that is weard it was producing extra voltage i have never heard of that happening before
