  1. Sounds like i'm gonna go parting and get a GL-10 Stalk and wiper motor, the heater fan blower control nob, and some resistor pack thingy.
  2. My stalk has 3 marked positions. OFF, LO, and HIGH There is NO INTERMITTENT. It must be a stupid stalk off an DL. I knew this car had issues, but downgrading my wipers? Come on... It wasn't that good of a deal. :-p
  3. Ok. Let me try rephrasing this. Is there a control stalk I can get that has the intermittant function? I'll look into replacing the motor to get the wipers to "park" on their own.
  4. Ok, in my '87 RX my heater only blows on setting 3. How do I got about fixing this? Will it require just a new blower motor? Or something else? I'm compleltely lost when it comes to interior things. I can certainly blow motors up though!
  5. Ok, in my 87 RX my wipers have 3 positions. Off, Lo, and High. I seem to remember my last RX had intermittant, as does my '86 wagon with the controls on the dash. Also, the wipers don't ever return, then stop whenever you turn it to off. Whether they be up, down, or half way in between. I also seem to remember my last 87 RX not doing this. So... what wiper control stalk to I need to get, and why was this ever changed? Will simply changing out the stalk give me both intermittant wipers, and the ability to turn the wiper off at any time and have them return to their parked position? This is just the begining of a very long list for this blasted car...
  6. Noah... I thought you had a problem with the guy from All Wheels Driven. Didn't he mess around with you and that Turbo Legacy you tried to buy?
  7. On the bright side, the worst thing that could happen is to lose both the block and heads. I learned that thought mentality with all my adventures with EA82T's. At the end of the day, it is just another enigne. SOme people say it works, some say it doesn't. But, with your forsight and superb thinking skills, I think you could succeed. Think low boost though. that 2.5 with the 2.2 heads will yeild higher compression if my research is correct... Keep us posted on this wonderful adventure!
  8. Currently this wire is connected to the EJ harness... should I "T" off it to the EA alt. plug? or disconnect it from the EJ harness? I wish it wasn't so damn cold out, and I wish I had a garage to put this in.
  9. What is the wire color for the alternator light, and where does it come from?
  10. On my EJ22 converted wagon, I have some sort of voltage drain. With the key off, and out, my volt guage still registers slightly above the lower line. While running, with no acc. on, i'm not seeing a full 14v, really just a hair above 12v. And now, for the 3rd day in a row, the car is dead. To the point nothing will turn on, or my automatic locks working. How do I troubleshoot something like this? Where do I start? I'm pretty certain its swap related... Yargh.
  11. Lazer: My EJ20G converted RX has 2 12" fans infront of the rad too. For whatever reason, I feel like I have less room on the wagon... and it being NA, I'm probably only going to put one fan in. Chux: What diameter fan did you get? Thats really the part thats holding me up.
  12. I'd like to know on what plug on teh back of teh dash, or somewhere under the dash. The engine harness plugs have already been encapsulated in in the fender well, and I really don't want to remove my fender again.
  13. I have the stock EJ22 dual fans... they don't fit. I have a 13" slimline fan. It doesn't fit between the rad and the engine, and its too big to fit on the front of the radiator. I'd like to see some examples of what others have done.
  14. Ok... where do I hook up the temp gauge wire coming off teh EJ22 harness?
  15. Thanks Chux, I'd really be interested in seeing which it was.
  16. OMG TURBO! Your car makes me envious. You need to get off your duff and put some of those parts on. I want to see some EDM goodness!
  17. So, I'm looking at fans, for my EJ22 conversion in my wagon. I am using a brand new, two row, EA82 Radiator... with modified in/outs to accept the legacy sized hoses. Previous to the conversion, i had been running a 13-14" slim fan, mounted on the engine side of the radiator. This fan doesn't fit on that side anymore, and is too big to be put on the front side of the radiator. I'm looking at getting a slim 9-10" fan. Most i've found only flow about 650cfm, think that is enough? What have you guys found that has worked?
  18. Really wish I coulda gotten out there Zap! But I know waiting is no fun.
  19. Over the last couple of weeks i've been helping my brother get his car ready so that he can go take his drivers test. We swapped out the broken air suspension for some regualr shocks and springs on his '86 XT-T. We replaced the horns, and we even replaced his old sealed beams with some Hella H4 conversion lenses. Today was the day, so he went down to the DOL to take his test. Then was told he couldn't because the 3rd brake light was out/not functioning. Since when is a 3rd brake light required? Was it required on the car when it was made? This is infuriating. Whats even worse, is the soonest he can get back in is the 27th of this month. Both his brand new job and school start before then, looks like my parents will have to help him get to those :-/ So... what size bulb do I need for the 3rd brake light on an '86 XT? @#$^& I didn't even know that car had a 3rd brake light!!
  20. i'd love to hear what you found Chux. Good work getting it running. I sure hope the sound of it popping to life was rewarding! Now that the RX is 'fixed' I can again concentrate on getting the wagon running... and your symptoms sounded a lot like mine.
  21. YES! Those are the w3rds i've yearned to hear all summer. Talk to Brad (subaru_styles) he had some custom axles made up on his old wagon.
  22. Huh... I figured your guy Hondasucks didn't show, I never saw him. But it was a good thing, cause you never responded to my PM confirming that Hondablows would be there, so I didn't bother trying to get the engine down there. So, there it sits in the corner of my small garage... a healthy reminder to me as why EA82's are the suck, and why I'm an EJ man from here on out.
