Interior Pics of my Wagon

Hidden in the glove box. With a switch to 'simulate' the deck face being folded down to allow the CD to eject. -

Air Horns. Although, i get cheap sets... and they never hold up to water very well. I'm on my 3rd set... -
Some people recently have wanted some pics of my switch panel, and also how I've done my stereo. Check it out: http://www.subarutex.com/gallery/v/Wagon/

EA82T Comp 75 120 85 120 after reseal
Subarutex replied to soobscript's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Head Gaskets usually don't blow together, simultanously. One goes, then the other. Depending on the severity, it may drivable for some time, or it might not. Now, if one side blew, but not bad enough to render the car undrivable, those 2 cylinders would be subject to different combustion properties than the other, non HG blown side. -

Of all people, I would know this best. Its your rings man. Sorry :-\ If your lucky... its just rings, and not cracked pistons too. -
Why would you want to make your soob sound like a weed whacker and get no torque?
-
At Reiter pit I snapped one of the 8 blades off my electric fan. It was soo off balance after that i had to break the opposite one off so it stopped wacking my rad and making horrible noises.
-
Wha? Cheaper? I can get pads for the XT-6 for $30 at Bow Wow. Cheap enough?
-
Those that car know they can't afford to keep playing the EA82T head gasket game, and have moved on. ANY engine CAN be great.
-
Honestly, your best bet at this point would be to take it to Smart Service. http://www.smart-service.com/ They will be able to tell you exactly what your options are. Either new engine (used japanese maybe?) or repair headgaskets. Tell them Tex, Dan's roomate sent you. Probally won't get a discount, but it might! Unfortunately, I am probally the LAST person you want to look at the car at this point. I have a bad track record with headgaskets.

Seems like an hour and some heater hose and you'd be good to go... or am I missing something?

Cool, definately get the new switch then. Better than ghetto rigging it to be always on. I got the first message you sent... did you send a second? Let me know how things go with flushing the system, and replacing that switch.

Its pretty easy to test the fan... to see if it is non-working, or if it is the sensor that is supposed to turn it on is non working. Coming from the fan, you should find 2 wires that go to a plug. If you undo the plug, you can connect these 2 wires directly to the battery (one on + and one on -) and see if it spins. I usually just use some scrap wire I have laying around to do this.

Welcome Home Noah Extravaganza!
Subarutex replied to Subarutex's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
We have plenty of parking! You just have to be creative. Come over anytime after 1. I'll be putzing on the brat, getting the weber on. Think we'll order the pizza 2-2:30ish. -
x3 for Smart Service. That said, exactly what issues do you think the car has and why?? Oh... I work in Lynnwood, on 44th next to the subway and starbucks, you may see my cars in the parking lot. A big lifted brown wagon, a black brat, or a white RX. I'd also take a quick look over the car if you are interested... PM me or something.

NOTE: I have moved in the last year, so if you haven't been by recently, get my new addy and directions. So... what time works for everyone? Anytime after noon i'm game. So... 1 or 2ish work? I'm thinking pizza right now, as our grill is "winterized" aka full of water, and needing a good overhaul. Bring: Cash for pizza, drink of choice. Am I missing anything?

EA81T, hissing noise from fuel system
Subarutex replied to Ever Victorious's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The rubber lines get brittle and crack, especially at the ends. Go check all of them... especially ones that connect directly to the manifold. -

Noah, nothing can get in the way of our hot date. You wanna come out to my pad to drop the stuff off, or have me meet you somewhere? -
Do you have an internally regulated Alt.? I'm 90% all the EA81's have them. If so, I would say you need a group 2 isolator. I'd probally get the 120amp group 2 isolator....

Amp is only bridgable to 2 channels. I put 6.5" seperates in each door panel. (6.5" midbass, 1" tweeter, crossover box) They are Pioneers, and rated at 50w RMS/150w peak. The amp is rated at 60w RMS/120w peak x 4. So it should all work out beautifully. A lot better than running of the 20w RMS/50w peak deck. Now I just need to figure out where to put the damn thing... -
