  1. Black looks sexy. I kinda miss the wagon though. Need another decal for the roof?
  2. Very cool, thanks for that! I think I would separate the 2 returns, but I don't have a strong reason for this. Looking at the photo of the underside, I can understand why you set it up the way you did. I also only hooked up one wire for my VSS... I thought thats all that was needed?
  3. Can you draw a diagram of how you have your fuel system routed? It sounds similar to an issue I encounter sometimes. I always thought it was the car running rich because the smaller carb return line can't take the pressure/volume of gas being sent back to the tank.
  4. So like... why not just get some EJ hubs/knuckles and run the ER brakes on them? Beats taking apart perfectly good axles... and they'll fit better in your WRX struts.
  5. Scott... I had one of these on my wagon for a time: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-Exhaust-Headers-98-05-Subaru-Impreza-2-5RS-2-5L-RS-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZMakeQ3aSubaruQQhashZitem2eb088d99aQQitemZ200530254234QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Equal length, sounded like a honda. More power in the upper rpms though. I know have one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBARU-LEGACY-GT-1997-2005-2-5RS-STAINLESS-HEADER-4DOOR-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZMakeQ3aSubaruQQhashZitem255d3f85aeQQitemZ160478234030QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_4474wt_1164 Unequal length, sounds like a Subaru on roids (coupled with a 2.25" exhaust and flowpro muffler). Good torque, good power. Its perfect! Thats the design i would shoot for. I'm guessing dia. is around 1.5" coming off teh heads.
  6. Well, I've penned a few scenarios for building myself a drift car. Once I get a decent garage and more parking spaces Game On! $800 Clean GL Shell (i'd go wagon... or xt) $1500 Ej25, wiring, Tranny, driveshaft, etc.. (yes, NA!) $200 Cams $1000 Coilovers Legacy GT 05+ (Megan, BC, etc...) $100 weld center diff and rear diff $200 for extra rear diff and axles $3800 for a driftable GL. Upside? If you wreck it a week of your time and another $500 should get you swapped into a new shell. If you get to the point you want to tandem, $1000 for simple roll cage and seat. I feel I'm pretty generous with the prices i've set. I'm confident it would be easy to come in under this. And, I acknowledge that you could probably spend the same amount and get into a Gen 1 legacy to do the same thing with... but its heavier, and not as 80's-tastic.
  7. I haven't done any research in the area for serious offroading. May be some single track out in the hills...
  8. That subaru part number looks to be just a bottle of additive, but I could be wrong. When I recently swapped to RX running gear in my wagon, I used some royal purple gear oil, that already had the LSD additive in it. Redline also makes an excellent standalone additive you can use.
  9. I did a EJ22 into my lifted wagon. I'm sad I did it after my wheeling phase, cause the power is awesome. I dream of upgrading to a EJ25... in due time. EJ + FWD + Wet pavement = Suck. Because its my daily, or half daily, I swapped in a FT4WD RX box to battle this problem. Much nicer driving car, and still goes OK offroad too!
  10. Heck yes! I have some exhaust parts in my garage. Come by and get them! What you don't use you can sell or scrap. I just want it gone.
  11. So... when you wanna race? I think we all need to try and hit up a track day. See who's EJ swapped EA is fastest.
  12. I'm impressed. The lack of floor pan makes up for your lack of tube... for now!
  13. Tex is not satisfied with the amount of TUBE contained within this thread.
  14. I work in the sign industry, I bought it through one of my suppliers. It ran me roughly $27/ln ft. Material comes 4' wide, I needed 6' of width for the hood, but ordered in 8' for some extra. I spent about $216 all said and done.
  15. Sick! I see your wagon around, sometimes near my buddies house in Lynnwood, off 180th behind Cycle Barn. To pass emissions I had Brody's (across teh street from Cycle Barn, great work!) install a 3" universal high flow catalytic converter. I then had to lower my idle a bit cause when warm I was over the limit. After that, it was just a matter of testing it 2 or 3 times till it passed. Just had to get the right combo of teh cat up to temp and working, engine in a clean no load range. The car has a fully tunable engine management system in it, but the road tune I have from Dominic at Maxwell Power passed just fine. In fact, the first 3 or 4 times I tested the car I was trying to "tune" it to pass without the cat.
  16. The clear stuff was plastiweld or something similar. I got it at OReillys. The white stuff is GOOP brand epoxy. Pretty decent stuff. Next time around though, I would use bondo for the white filler, instead of GOOP... Sands slightly better.
  17. Sickness! I'm serious about zebra striping this or camoing it. I can grab some vinyl, and we can go to town. Buy me Wendy's or something, we'll make it happen. Maybe have Noah over for a partay.
