  1. There you have it. Anything from mud bogs to forest trails and plenty of field space for tents. Big barn for rain out meeting area/vendor booths. 800 acres is plenty of land to host WCSS8 A good central location for Seatle to Grants Pass participants!
  2. I would be down for Oregon and I have some ideas that I am throwing around for a venue.
  3. Using the regular Subaru 13" would be plenty fine to get you home or to a tire shop. It's better then the factory donuts that they give you. I wouldn't recommend driving fast down the freeway on the smaller wheel. But again it would be fine to get you home and thats what is important.
  4. "Tick of death" ??? noisy lifters could be the culprit of the clacking you are hearing. They could be gummed up and stuck or not covered in oil when cold starting, should go away after the engine warms and gets the oil circulated. Or the oil pump is not pumping at full capacity. Just throwing some out there for ya.

  6. These pics are painful to look at. Glad to hear everyone walked away ok. Poor soobies...
  7. I would recommend the Portland Hitch Company based in...Portland, OR. They have something for everything. If not then maybe Uhaul. Hitches all have some rating on them, just ask the tech at on of those places on the hitch you want. The main issue is how much the car can tow. But either way its nice to have when you need it.
  8. To adjust it, first lossen the lock nut then tighten the next nut on the cable so it pulls more cable through the stop. Be careful not to do it too much because if its too tight it wont release the brakes all of the way. So just a turn or two then test it. Like said earlier, fully press the clutch pedal and brake pedal then release the brake pedal while still holding in the clutch and see if the car rolls back or not. If it does then try another turn or two and repeat. When you have it adjusted properly, tighten the lock nut down so it won't back off and come out of adjustment. Its a great feature when working 100%.
  9. James, count me in for a skid plate for sure, and depending on prices, some of those fine tube bumpers would be sweet. Want to see pics and prices before I commit 100%.
  10. I have owned just about every model (except 360's) prior to my Loyale. I have never had any problems with the EA-82 SPFI engine, runs great! As far as it missing a few extras, ie D/R, LSD, Turbo, Maplight, well the D/R is just a bolt on, and LSD can get salvage from a wrecking yard and with minor chages can bolt on. Turbo is not the best for off road in my opinion, and a maplight is a 20 minute install from a GL due to the harness allready wired for one. Plus I enjoy tinkering with my cars, always adding things and fixing things. Its a great way to learn. Sooo I really don't have much to complain about. Sure my last GL-10 had all of this but I also had to pay more for it then my Loyale, which had fewer miles on it. The gas mileage is great and the car runs for ever. I have gone everywhere in my Loyale that I went in my GL's. It's just nice to have the EA-82 body and engine, newer with less miles on it available as a Loyale. I love Subaru's and would gladly take in to my care to give a good home any and all Subaru models. To be a true Soobie lover, one must Love ALL Subarus!
  11. I completely rebuilt my power steering pump with the seal kit from th dealer and a new bearing. This bearing also acts as the main seal so its important to replace it too. The whole job took me only 2 hours. I recommend replacing all of the seals and the bearing all at once that way everything will wear at the same rate. I can't remember the number on the bearing, sorry, 6000 series though. If you pull it out the number is on the dust cover of the bearing, or just go to a Subaru dealer and ask the parts person what bearing it is, then get it from the bearing supplyer. I got mine a McGuire Bearing for like a dollar. And the seal kit was like $15. not bad for a rebuilt pump!
  12. That's one mean lookin subie!
  13. Hey allright, good to see another from Corvallis! Welcome to the board.
  14. I always wear my belt. You never know when it could save you. Its there, might as well...
  15. Sounds good, I think you will like the spots I found. I drove around out there for about 3 hours today instead of class, lots of terrain to explore still. Give me a call when your rig is down here.
  16. ...and ticking ...and ticking ...and ticking LOUDER!
  17. I just went up to Mary's Peak today and found some good hill climbs down this one long fire road up there. I am trying to get ahold of James from AA to see if he can check it out with me. Would love to get out there again with someone else from around here... let me know if you are interested in doing a little wheelin at Mary's Peak.
  18. James, I found a sweet place off of Mary's Peak to go wheelin today. I found several miles of trails that seem to go forever. There were a bunch of hill climbs all along the road. All off of accessable fire roads! Also a couple of good mud holes. I can bring the video gear and camera for some stills too. Let me know if you want to check it out this week before the weather goes bad again.
  19. So I drove from Corvallis to PIR this morning arriving around 8:30 AM after a good 2 hour dirve, ready to help set up and volunteer my time for this fun event only to see the sign and an empty field. I was pretty bummed to see it cancelled because of poor weather and field condtions. The "weather" this morning was rather pleasent in the warm sunshine as forcasted by all of the weather websites, quite mild in fact. Well, off to check the "condition" of the field, wearing my sunglasses. Field was hard packed and well drained except for a couple of mushy spots the size of my Subaru, which could be easliy avoided with some minor course changes. Anyway I'm just rambling on... This looked like a great day for fall OREGON rallycross. The feild conditions were nothing I havent allready seen at Hillsboro ealier this spring! (ie swampy parking lot and mud up to some axels). I wish the info would have been posted sooner than later so as to prevent alot of people from driving many hours to volunteer at this event. I don't mean this as an attack at anyone, (thanks for the hard work this year organizers), but... this is OREGON and it does rain a bit from time to time, which... could lead to some mud... never stopped us before! Part of the challenge of the sport I thought. Oh well, maybe there will be a reschedule...
  20. SWEET! I can't wait for some good snow to play in! Its coming! up to 2 feet down to 3500 feet this weekend for Cascades!
  21. I love the look of gen 1 Brats! That thing has a ton of potential! Good score, especially if it runs good.
  22. Wow two down? Its good to hear that everyone is allright. The Forester has one of the highest crash safety test ratings around. It sounds like it worked. You have to get another Forester, it just wouldn't be the same without one.
  23. That looks real good! So many good bumper designs posted! I had a Warn Industries full front bumper with a winch on my '83 GL sold it with the car though, man I miss that thing! I'll post a pic or two later.
