  1. Your absolutely right, it wouldn't work with a EFI system, however I didn't say it would. I merely replyed to your original statement in which you said which is infact wrong, it will work. It may not be the best option, but it is an option none the less.
  2. In '80 and '81 Fuji Heavy put the pump under the hood, I've pulled those brackets and remounted pumps in three Soob's and it works fine. In fact I'm running a pump under the hood in my '85 Brat right now with out any problems.
  3. The '80 and '81 Soob's had the fuel pump mounted in the engine compartment, next to the wiper motor. I pull these brackets when ever I find them and rewire/mount the pump, and put an inline filter in between the pump and the carb, and inplace of the pump in the rear. I'm also not running any emissions or fuel separator so the fuel delivery is has only fuel in and return.
  4. I just finished my LSD convertion last week and thought the same thing until I got everything apart, and it really is self explanatory. just keep all the 3.9 stuff separate from the 3.7 stuff and you'll be fine.
  5. It's called "Guide to Moab,Ut Backroads & 4wheel Drive Trails" by Charles Wells. It has 50 trail maps, GSP coordinates, it's pretty cool.
  6. So I picked up a book on 4x4'ing in Moab and I'm thinking camping in Kane Creek is lookin pretty good. It's right in the middle of some good stuff, and easy to get to from all directions. What do you guys (and gals) think? Also who all has CB's? I finally finished wiring mine up today, so what channel is "Subi only"?
  7. And This just proves that Subarus make life better! Running or not.

    Dual Fans?

I'm using a fan off of an EA82 as a secondary on my '85 Brat. The 3 mounting spots on the fan lined right up with threaded spots on the rad and I just jumped the wires off the stock fan so it comes on with the thermo switch, works great.
  9. I'm always down with being on the river. Plus I'll be coming from Cysco so that may be easier for me to find, that is if big bend is on the back road.So it looks like Suckerking, Wasteland, Singletrack, and Dustyrider for sure. Some Yota friends of mine may come over from Durango to witness the Subaru chaos action. Who else is in?
  10. MOAB!I know Daves not planing, he's thinking of dark haired hippie girls! You know the best spots to camp, where's close to the goods, big enough for multiple riggs, not radioactive, and easy to find in the dark?
  11. UPDATE?! HEADCOUNT?! Who's commited to these date? I'm planing on being there Friday night (as I've said befor) So who am I meeting down there?
  12. I love my '94 Loyale! good gas milage, great in snow, my wife likes to drive it, it's a great car. I use it as a family car/grocery getter/commuter, it's awsome. If I didn't have 3 other Subie projects I'd be pimpin the hell out of it, but that will have to wait.
  13. Thats reeaallllyyyy frigin weird, I was thinking about a lifted, rallyed out RX on the way home last night! I was thinking that since it allready had rear discs, LSD, coil over R shocks and would haul a$$, why not just lift one and stuff in a D/R 5spd.
  14. I've been thinking about the same thing, since the sand stone out here has so much traction it would seem the an LSD would be better suited for our area unless you get stuck in a three wheel motion. If it where more mud trails and absolute tracktion was a must , the welded diff is the way to go. I can see alot of broken stubs from running a welded rear on slickrock but I may be way off on this. Oh and Rad pics! I got a chance to use my shovel in some of that clay/glue about a week ago, MMMMM sticky
  15. If I remember correctly, the OEM nuts are 36mm, the reman nuts are 32mm.
  16. Dam Dude! You are so luck, glad to hear you walked away from it!
  17. '86 hatch 5spd d/r tranny welded diff rear discs 4" lift 505 14" steels w/ 28's custom light bar and bumpers massive skid plate a full tank of gas and a bottomless cooler of Old Mill.
  18. To do it right you'll have to drain the PS system, dump the pump and rack and install a manual steering rack, it's not that bad of a swap. Why are you wanting to get rid of your PS? If you can wait until sping I know of a few EA82 wgn's that will be coming up for auction, I haven't been able to get under their hoods but at least one should have a manual rack.
  19. Well I've been vetoed on taking the 15th off so I'll have to meet up late Friday night. I'll need to know where everyone is camping so I can find it drunk, in the dark. Is Friday going to be a travel/meetup day, or a rally day?
  20. Lets nail down the 15th-17th. Where should we all meet? Who all is planing on camping? Theres a big dirt pit on the side of potash road north of town that I think is open to car camping. It would fit alot of Soobs and tents but it's not pretty. Singletrack probably knows more places. That all depends on the thaw, but late April/early May is usually too cold for the mass hoards of boaters. Deadhorse makes some good brew but I'm not sure if they do an off sale or not, I think all store bought beer is 3.2, again Singletrack may hold the answer.
  21. YA! Welcome aboard! Colorado rules, we'll be caught up to the Willamette Valley in no time!
  22. Thanks! I've got the E10 on order. I did hit one side with the 1/2 impact reduced down for the 1/4 8mm but it broke the tip off my reducer! I'm thinking they're seized in, I got them bathing in liquid wrench now. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Thanks for the info!
  23. I've got a 3.9 diff that I'm pulling apart to have the spiders welded, but I can't get the stub bolts out. The head of the bolt looks like a male torx, an 8mm six point deep socket fits on it but it's 1/4 so I can't get alot of aciton on it. Any tips to breaking these loose?
  24. can't wait, may not be lifted by then but that hasen't REALLY stopped me yet. And as I've said, buy beer BEFORE the state line!
