Okay, things are getting worse (see my other thread). Tonight, I took out the speedometer cable on the tranny and it I pulled out the inner driver cable. It looks to be fine, no broken sign of any kind. I took out the instrument cluster assembly but I can't tell if it works or not. Should I drive the car with the speedometer cable unconnected and see (or feel) if the cable spins? If the cable doesn't spin, it's more like the gearbox inside the tranny is bad? If it spins, the speedometer itself is bad?

Hi guys. Lately after my Speedometer gauge went bad, my Check Engine light came on and when I start the car, the Power light flashes fifteen times and my MPG went down the hill, probably down to around 10-15 MPG (if not less), which is ridiculous crazy. I used to get 25-30 MPG so this is killing me. First, I want to know if the Speedometer gauge going bad causes all of these to behave the way they do or am I facing a bigger problem here? If it's a bigger problem, I might just trash it as I don't want to spend too much money to keep it up. Okay, this is on 91 Leggy 2.2 AWD Auto. Thanks for any advice...

Hi guys. Long time no post. Everyone is doing great here. Anyway, I need help. I need to know of an internet site that I can order an ABS or Wheel sensor for my 91 Legggy. It's the right front one. Any recommendation which site? I called the local dealer there and it costs $150.00!!! Poor man can't afford that! Thanks for your help...

I have never had a Subie rep. told me that the diff. on the 91 is different from the 92. I know for a fact that the 90 and 91 trannies are interchangeable without doing anything special, but I think the 92 may be just a little different than the 90 and 91. Now, I could be wrong, so don't quote me on that. My experience is only as a result of my case and no other info to base. Awhile back, I bought a 92 AT Computer and the tranny I just put on back in 7/05 only works the 92 AT computer without having to rely completely on the fuse to go into FWD (or stay in AWD with the little pulling to one side). The 91 AT Computer would completely lock the rear diff. or wheels at that initial time. Haven't used it since then (7/05). So, 91 AT Computer + 92 Tranny = Rear diff. or wheels completely locked up in AWD mode, but works okay in FWD mode. 92 AT Computer + 92 Tranny = Works okay in AWD but with the little pulling to one side (only when accelerating from a stop or close to stop). Both of them works great in FWD mode. So, the question would be: Is it the glitch with the rear differential OR with the tranny?

Well, I've been doing it for almost a year now. I do it because my old tranny went bad back in July of last year and I bought a used one, but it was from a 92, not 91 like mine. Here was my story: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39312 The only possible way was to use a '92 AT Computer, but it seems to pull to the right or something when accelerating, so I put it in FWD and it works without pulling to one side and I've been driving it like that for close to a year now. Should I put it back to AWD and live with the pulling to one side glitch?

I've been having this squeaking noise for awhile now. It seems like my caliper isn't smooth enough to let go of my brake after I let go off the brake pedal. I don't actually feel any drag. If driven for more than 10 minutes (whether it's stop and go or highway), upon coming/slowing to a stop, the rear brakes always make squeaking noise. And that happens even on new brakes and rotors. I thoroughly cleaned the rotor before installing. I already tried lubricating the guide pins with no good result either. Could it be that my caliper is going bad (from rusting)? Maybe time for new caliper? I couldn't think of anything right now but the caliper. Anybody has any advice? Thanks in advance...
