  1. Good thinking man! That is a great idea. Can't wait. I am already excited about it. More jets to look at and tuning ahead.
  2. Me too! Really glad you saved it from its misery. Definately a one of a kind. What motor is that in there? What size? Looks like for its day it may have been a pretty peppy little car.
  3. Don't think the valve timing is off since that was never touched. It is a low mile ea81 so I think that part is perfectly fine since it ran good with the stock hitachi. It just makes me a little sad to see Jay put so much work into his car and not having going. I will have to look into the carb workings a little more cause it still seems that there is something funny about this particular weber. I have seen many people throw on a weber and with minimal effort have it screaming in no time. We did find some little metal particals in the float bowl when we removed the top portion of the carb to change out the main jets and air corrector jets back to the stock settings. I think that some of the casting/flashing may have found a way to come loose a little bit after putting some fuel through it. I will have to check all of the little ports on the carb to confirm this. Any other ideas? I want this thing to go as much as Jay and Shawn do.
  4. Well we made some head way. The cat was getting kinda plugged so we switched that out which made for much better vacuum. Also there is no vac leaks at all on the car. We checked everything. Also the distributor was a bit off which Mr. Yeti will fill us in on a little more.
  5. That looks like alot of fun! Nice scenery shots!
  6. Good thinking! I am wondering if the carb adapter gasket is not making a good seal because of the carb water port for the hitachi? Of course it isn't leaking though.Makes me wonder. Shawn made the comment several times that it sounded as if it had a vac leak. I may bring another dizzy along with me tomorrow to check out the vac advace.
  7. I remember that comment you made about that and it reminded me of being a kid looking at new motorcycles with my dad and having my hands in my pockets and being good so I didn't make any smudge marks with my hands on the nice shiney paint.
  8. I will let you know if I see some, but for some reason I haven't seen any xt6's around here. Chances are pretty slim you will get them before Mr. Kingbobdole gets them first since he is looking for them too. We are not a greedy bunch around here so someone will let you know soon enough if something turns up.
  9. If you know how to get out to the colorado mills mall area myself or someone else could meet you at parking lot around there and take you from that point.
  10. Ditto Mate! I have been pulling a few hairs out thinking of what to check next. We will get it!
  11. You may be able to flush it out with a garden hose. Disconnect it at the firewall from the engine compartment. You may be able to get it to free up by running water in both hoses to the heater core. Not high pressure just alternate back and forth between the two hoses to try to coaxe it free. After it starts to free up connect the hoses and fill it with antifreeze along with a coolant flushing agent. Run that through the system and then drain it clean and refill with fresh antifreeze and water. Try that a couple of times and you should be good to go.
  12. Ya that was before I got the alignment. It now sits almost as straight in the front as it did stock. *Almost*
  13. Your wagon looks nice and purdy Phil! Looks like it is time for you to take it on a trail or two again. Maybe we can all work out some sort of trail meet soon.
  14. You better believe I am up for it! I have been looking forward to something like this. Whatever we decide to do I am game for! Also I am glad you got a shot of my hatch sitting there in unlifted form. Just tell me what food to bring and I will be there.
  15. I can spot DrKrazy's car on the middle right hand side goin' through some nice snow. Way to go Keith!
  16. That is great! Lots of detail painting make that thing look awesome!
  17. I recomend using a scraper with a flat razor blade on it or the green scotch brite type pads. Be carefull not to work one little spot for too long. Slow and steady and you'll get it before long.
  18. Yep I agree. I use royal purple oil and run with a k&n oil filter. My ea81 is a bit spoiled.
  19. Mine is pegged at max all day long. I know the sending unit is bad but I know my oil pressure is right where it should be. Listen to your ea81 and it will tell you anything you would like to know.
  20. *Cough* Shawn needs to get his little brat going , need to find a chassis. *Cough*
  21. So I was driving back from the grocery store tonight around 8pm and I saw this white rx turn the same direction I was going (north on wads) and I caught up to meet ya right next to you in my lifted hatch. Not sure who you were or if you are on this board. I yelled hey but the driver was busy chatting on his cell phone. I thought it looked like a nice rx with black tinted windows. White car with the white hubcaps. Anyone know who I may have spotted? I have seen 3 new rx's this summer around here and I am really happy to see them coming out of the woodwork a little bit.
  22. Wow that sounds great! I bet Jamie would be a good instructor. Really want to do that sort of thing sometime.
