Holy crap! That is about all I can say right now! I want one of those someday. -
fitting webber carb to ea71 motor question?
Jerry DeMoss replied to kiwi subbie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes I think you would have to get it re-jetted since it came off of a different car. What size engine was in the car you pulled it from? Just thought if you got it from something with similar displacement you may have a good starting point. As far as the adapter goes, alot of people order from redline. I have seen several adapters in Australia for sale on ebay. There is a good weber thread on here, should answer any other questions you might come across. Good luck. -
If someone in your car is nice enough to squeeze a bellows with a long hose on it and direct it towards your carb, then I think that is an easy 10h.p. extra. j/k.

I heart car people!
Jerry DeMoss replied to waimaks's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
That is very interesting. None of the U.S. models( I am pretty sure anyway) came with a belt driven fan. I believe the first ones were on the ea82's. Someone please help me out if I am wrong. I find this kind of stuff very interesting! -

Anyone else spot that little white cooling fan positioned on the engine? Don't think I have seen one positioned in that way before.Especially on the pushrod motors. Looks like a ea71 if I had my guess. Did all of the non U.S. models come this way? -
How to lift a Superstation a little bit?
Jerry DeMoss replied to Swedenboy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
What car are you planning on lifting? Or what body style? It really isn't that tough if you want to do the lift yourself. There are a few available for sale, but judging by your location shipping may be rather expensive. There are many people that have built their own lift so read on and you will learn alot. -
Rare overheating!?!?!?!
Jerry DeMoss replied to Caboobaroo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I think it could make a pretty big difference. Although I think the problem may lie in the fact that Jeff is hiding under your car somewhere! I think thermostat and radiator cap will fix the problem. -

Congrats Connie! Way to go! -
He definately is somebody I would love to meet! It seems that he along with a few others is among the fore front of thinking outside the box on subies. That carb swap would be something I would love to try. I am definately a bit old school since I still love carbs. Is the carb swap for the ej a single weber or dual or is it a big 4 barrel?

I painted my entire grill white with that krylon fusion and it is pretty strong stuff and looks nice. Even after getting hit with rocks and bugs ect. it still looks good. -

Jerry DeMoss replied to Gyoas759's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That is great Skip! I love that statement. -
Ya some of those parts off of that tt ej20h are kind of different compared to the rest. I have an intake, heads and intercooler off of one of those and they are kind of cool to compare to the single turbo counterparts. I can't wait to see that car with the ej20h in there!

Nice! I am interested to see how those cryo treated heads hold up compared to regular ones. Where are you getting the ceramic coated stuff done at? Swain tech? -
Ouch that motor of yours looks like it has seen better days! That timing gear looks like someone beat it with a big hammer a few times! CCR is great!

Looks like you don't have much if any camber issues in the front like many lifted rigs. Nice job! -
Early B-Day arrival **Edit **EEK**
Jerry DeMoss replied to Turbone's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
They do great work I agree. Your engine now looks as clean as the rest of your car does! Not too often that both are at the same time. Looks good! -
Thats a great looking little wagon! You will really love how durable that car is and decent gas mileage you can't beat the whole deal.
