PUG wheels are installed!!!

That is one good looking brat! -
Those are the same alloys I have.Good deal for $50! They are definately not steel. You can use regular lug nuts if you want but you may have to grind them a bit.I haven't done this myself since I was fortunate enough to get lug nuts when I bought my rims.

Tire question for those driving lifted rigs in snow
Jerry DeMoss replied to zyewdall's topic in Off Road
I have 215/75/15 BFG mtr's on my lifted hatch.Seems to do really good in the snow but I never got the chance to try it on the ice. -
Dual spfi on ea81 dual carb manifold?
Jerry DeMoss replied to Jerry DeMoss's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Great input guys.It was really an idea more than anything cause I figured that MS would be the way to go with that.Allthough very different I still think twin webers sound better and better ,but at the altitude we live at here in colorado carbs can be a bit of a pain.I am pretty sure I am going to convert my hatch to spfi. -
taking my '85 BRAT out of storage
Jerry DeMoss replied to DaBrizat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I would first drain out the old oil and change the filter. Then add some regular non synthetic stuff and run it for a couple days and then drain out that oil and change the filter. After all that you should be good to go with the synthetic oil. -
Just a thought here and I was just wondering what some of the spfi guru's thought about it.Wondered if it was possible and as I doubt it really is needed I thought it was fun to think about.Anyone else toying with that same idea or others thought of it before?

That is a nice big toy!Looks like it sits pretty high. How big are those tires?
-
Looks really good! What gears you running in your car? 3.9 or 4.11,4.44? That really changes the attitude of the car.

FF1 has finally arrived
Jerry DeMoss replied to maudsland's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Thats insane! I hate those kind of people that will ruin someones day/week just so they can see the look on their face. I would have wanted to grab that car too if I was in the same situation. -
There probly is a good chance the headgaskets are good still but I would redo them since it is going to be way easier now than later.I think it would be a good time to do the cam seals, timing belts and tensioner as well as the water pump and front and rear seals.

Ok, who else has a mailbox on their hood?
Jerry DeMoss replied to WJM's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
I know this is totally bogus but I saw one on a lifted sammy! Did not look very good sitting there on the hood like that.Poor suby part being on an inferior vehicle. -

Milage Machine. Ideas
Jerry DeMoss replied to tailgatewagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Also something that you could try that I had good results with in the past is: -Slightly larger exhaust.I gained 1-3 mpg average. -Better coil and plug wires like msd.I could notice it had better scavanging abilities. -Also a good free flowing air filter. I did all of the above things to my previous ea81 hatch and I got 5-8mpg better.Good luck:)
