  1. Sweet. So did you take out the celica seats or do you have another hatch that I don't know about?
  2. Went to pull n save today to scope things out. Here is some of what I saw that seemed interesting: -'88 hatch 4wd -'89 touring wagon 4wd -'86 brat 4wd No first gen stuff that I saw.Let me know if anyone needs more details on parts.
  3. Carbide bit on a diegrinder. That is what I use on porting cast metal peices other than aluminum.Should cut it no problem.
  4. Not only are those heads rare but the cam and pushrods are just as much.Anyone know if that engine has higher compression pistons stock?I know that the domes are a bit smaller.
  5. I as well have a yakima rack. The mounts that I have that I use on my hatch and will work on any wagon I am sure are the: "Q" mounts.Don't know if that is what you are after, but I have had really good sucess with those being really sturdy.I have put a mountain bike up there on cross country trips and big boxes ect.Hope that helps a little.
  6. Ditto.I wish they wouldn't have ruined that car.Although it did take alot of hard work to get it to that point.
  7. When doing the conversion I never tried to put the 3.9 into the 3.7 housing.I did hear that the pinion gear may be different.I am sure there is someone who has tried that.
  8. Really want to see your beast when you get it done!I know it will be amazing!
  9. Looks like loads of fun! What type of tire did you go with?
  10. To get my old front struts out on my hatch I used PB blaster as you said, and a really big pair of channel-locks.I would spray it and then try to twist it with the big pair of channel locks and then tried prying around on the tab that the brake line attaches to on the front strut with a big screw driver at the same time.I got kinda frustrated at mine when doing it but finally got it.Putting them back in is much easier IMO.I also used anti-sieze on the nuckle when reassembling.
  11. One member that I know has had alot of good miles on his conversion is Beefaru. He has an ej22 swapped into his ea82 wagon. He will have to say exactly how many miles he has put on since the conversion, but I know it is over 100k.Beefaru's wagon is really nice.
  12. Nice mate! Gotta love the sound of the engines roaring up the hill! Those hills look like lots of fun!
  13. There is a headlight restore kit made by Permatex.I have used it on several vehicles where I work at,and have had good results.Just about every auto parts store I have been to has it over where all of the lights are kept.
  14. About a month ago I saw a justy with some 13" wheels at the junkyard. They were alloys and looked to be aftermarket of some kind.Wish I would've grabbed them.
  15. I have found that a combo of chem stripping and blasting to be a good way to go.I like to use the Aircraft stripper and let it sit there about 1/2 hour and then scrape off the excess. Then at that point if there is alot of paint left I would probly do that same thing again and then start the blasting.
  16. Or just use ea71 pistons. The cars that came as spfi started in 87.That is the cutoff year as some are carbed and some spfi.Carbed models went away in '88 on the ea82.I believe they continued on until '94 in the loyale models.Good luck.
  17. That is great Keith! I knew another rx would find a home in your driveway. That 3pt harness is pretty cool.I am pretty stoked for you to have the parts car you were looking for!
  18. Um... Just a quick question.... Is it bad when you start dreaming about this sort of thing?!
  19. The words thrash and RX should never go together in a sentence.:-\
  20. WOW!!! That is awsome! I am glad you found out.I can't wait.Atleast now it is not like a stab in the dark!
  21. I believe Caboobaroo was looking for one a while ago.May have been him that you were thinking of.
  22. I need to learn to drive like you Shawn and Drkrazy! Nice job guys!
