  1. That is one way of doing it which I have never done. This is the way I do it: -Warm the engine up to operating temp and remove the spark plugs and as you said block off or shut off the fuel supply and spark. Then insert the copression tester in the spark plug hole.Hold the throttle down to the floor to create vacuum and crank. I am sure there are other ways of doing it.This has just always worked for me.
  2. Looks really nice.I noticed another car sitting next to it in one of the pics, what is it?
  3. Have you flushed the cooling system very good?May want to do that. Also nice eyelids on the rx.
  4. I have heard of some cutting theirs with a hacksaw!Lots of work but you can do it.Also you can take your piece to a metal shop where they cut huge pieces of metal and if you talk to them nice they may do it for free or for just a little money.
  5. Ya I agree that is really different.I like those.
  6. I am going to do that too!I was originally going to use blue, but red is alot easier on the eyes at night. Please tell us what you used?Red paint or is it colored bulbs?Did you use bulbs or L.E.D.'s ?
  7. Redneck Engineering at its finest! I graduated from that school with honors!I am good at Jerry Riggin' too! Those look great on that hatch.
  8. Hey Pat I am glad to hear you are looking at this car.If you do end up getting it I would be glad to help you since you live so close to me.
  9. What type of car are you working on?More precisely what year? Most likely check to see if you can hear the motor turn on when you push the squirter button. If that works then move on to the lines and make sure they aren't leaking. Then if that is good disconnect the lines from the squirters themselves and try to blow some air through it.Good luck?
  10. Keep your eye out for a heated mirror for a 93-94 legacy.Drivers side. You will be able to tell by the heat control under the mirror control on the dash just left of the stearing wheel. This part is not for me but for DrKrazy and I know he still needs one. I believe it is the whole mirror assembly that will need to be pulled.Thanks.
  11. I know some people put that little clear plastic wind/rain gaurd up there that goes just in front of the sun roof and that seems to quiet things down.
  12. I 2nd the notion for the oil pump. With that mileage it is a pretty good chance that is your problem.
  13. If you are just going to put your carbed heads back on your shortblock then you should be able to just drop it right in.Shouldn't run into any problems that I am aware of.
  14. Thank you for posting this!I think this will be a mod I will do in the near future when my little ea81 decides to make more power!
  15. Was the brat ever a beach rig?I know from experience that alot of sand can get in the fuel tank.Myself and 3 other people I knew when I lived in Alaska had similar problems and frequently had to change fuel filters.Although I think some of your problem lies in the carb as others have said. Not too many brats left up in the AK.
  16. Wow!That is really amazing.I personally don't own one of those but would love to.That is a needle in a haystack type of deal!
  17. That is pretty sweet!I learn something new every day.I like the way that bumper looks too! Nice job!
  18. Actually you will probly be better off finding a seat out of a car at the JY.I think there are a few I have seen that have the heat in the seat.I think you will pay less than what you would getting it repaired.Just my .02cents
  19. Please post some pics of that.I would really like to see what that looks like.I have been thinking about ditching the idea I had and going with something like that since a friend of mine let me drive his '99 2.5rs and I liked the seats.
  20. I have seen only one here in colorado driving on the road.Unmistakable shape/design.Makes me think of back to the future movies.
  21. Man does that look nice!I love it!Did you use the stock rear window and then just cut a hole,or did you get the jdm stuff?
  22. As far as the wiring goes I would suggest asking Shawn W about that.He has done a few of those swaps.
  23. I have done both headgaskets on my ea81 and you have to remove all of the 17mm bolts/nuts.Passenger side is a bit easier than the drivers side with the engine in the car.Shouldn't have trouble on reassembly.Good luck.
  24. How many miles does it have? Also check it over for bondo and check the front engine compartment area for any crinkling/noticeable damage from a accident. That should determine well if it is worth anything to you.I would say a good ballpark to stay in is 500-800 for one in decent shape.Look for all the flaws you can so you can point out some things.
