  1. Forgot to add that you are probly better off just going with a spfi short block and then just put your heads on that.Probly cheaper to do it that way if you end up finding a good low mileage short block.
  2. First of all yes you are correct the spfi pistons will bump up your compression.Secondly there is really no need to mess with the cylinders on a suby of that mileage. Many engines torn down at around that amount of miles have cylinders that are still within the original specs of when it was new. Also I have heard horror stories of people that sleeve their blocks and end up having it turn in the cylinder and thusly messing up the whole engine.I wouldn't recomend it as I am sure others will agree.Good luck.
  3. Any of those engines you mentioned will fit.The frame rails will just take a little persuading.(Need to cut the frame rails)Definately can be done.
  4. Nice work! Also glad to see you are running a optima red top just like I am.
  5. I believe the nissan adapter works just fine for putting a k&n on there.IIRC that is what DrKrazy used on his rx.
  6. Welcome!Alot of the stuff you speak of is more or less custom fabbing that you will have to do.There are a few members on here with some really fast rx's.Do some searching and you will find some pictures to give you some ideas.
  7. Hey nice job on coating the floor!I like it alot! Nice looking project hatch.
  8. I as well have rx springs.I have them on my hatch mounted on kyb gr2's.I took the advise of McBrat and located a set of springs.I am pretty happy with them and yes just as McBrat said it is a bit stiffer with a little added lift in the front.
  9. I had to do head gaskets on my ea81 also.It had crap in the anti freeze and the oil.Should come out clean when you change it.Make sure you run seafoam through the oil when you get done with your headgaskets before you change the oil. That will help it come out squeeky clean!
  10. I have never seen those on a hatch before.I definately would grab one if I see it.I wonder if one of those off of an old 280z would work?I may just have to check.
  11. Nice job on the photo choppin'.I think it looks great!I thought about doing something similar with mine when I get pugs, but I am going to powder coat mine white.
  12. Nice tip! Thanks.I will keep that in mind incase I come across something like that I need to repair.
  13. I will see what I can do.I will try to head out there friday afternoon or saturday morning.
  14. Yes,the 2dr hatchback and the 2dr coupe will work as well.As long as it is the ea81 chassis.
  15. That is exactly who I was thinking of.Thanks Jon.
  16. As for dual webers I am working on adapters right now. Also if you do end up wanting to run the jdm dual port heads....I know where to get them.
  17. Thanks for all of the great pictures!I think that would be alot of fun!I can understand where I would want to take a bunch of spare tires.
  18. I was told that you can get a rebuild kit for any 80-82 ea81 with the hitachi and it would work.Since they are manual choke I believe that is the only difference.Good luck on your carb rebuilds.
  19. You are still better off with that weber than a hitachi. You can get rebuild kits off of ebay or the redline weber site.Good luck.
  20. Please tell me where you got the stainless valve springs!I really would be interested. Also what did you do with the valves?Did you use the originals? Also the 275 cam? Will that give you more torque or is it a upper rpm band cam? Thanks.
  21. Man that looks great!I like that you have the dual carb manifold on there too!Nice Job!
  22. That is friggin' helarious! Reading the first part made me assume they would ask a price like that!56grand! I truly hope they are joking but I get the feeling that they aren't.Sounds like it is a true relic and should be kept with armed security around it!
  23. They are getting rather hard to find, but you can find them on ebay.If you want get ahold of my brother Jason at riverside auto in soldotna and he might be able to locate you one.262-5851 anyone at that parts shop can help.
