I would like to see if anyone has an extra ea81 header laying around.I would like to see what the diameter of each side of the exhaust header pipe is?I would like measurements from the inlet side from the exhaust port of the head and also the exit diameter from behind where the cat is.If anyone could lend me a hand with this that would be great.Thanks.

Sweet!Pugs or 6 lug? Hatch's are nice anyway you build them.

EA71 rebuild or replacment questions
Jerry DeMoss replied to rsb's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
It would be my guess that your rear main seal is leaking causing the oil loss. That would also cause you to loose power because of that.I think it may just need to be resealed along with the oil pump. -
Denver Wheelin Meet

You think I could do ok in a stock hatch?I am definately in! I am going to see if I can get my kyb gr2's before then and also mount them up with my rx springs.I can't wait to try that combo out! -
Its a limited slip differential.Makes both wheels turn at the same time rather than having a one wheeled wonder! Also to answer the previous question about weather or not it has a lsd.I would have to say most likely no,because lsd's mostly came on turbo cars. Also the way to check is on the sticker on the rear diff. right by the fill plug. Should read 3.700 or if it is turbo it will say 3.700 LSD. Hope that helps.

Personally I would say go with the ej22t if you want a turbo engine to hang with the sti ej257.That ej22t is a darn good engine. You will probly have an easier time swapping in one of those and it is quite a bit cheaper.

This morning at 5:45am while I was on my way to work I was traveling on sheridan traveling south to 6th.In the opposite lane I spotted a super nice, clean gen 1 brat with a white push bumper.Nice bright blue color paint.I tried seeing who was driving it but there was too much sun glare. But anyway whoever owns that one, they have a great looking brat.

Very nice to hear!Tried and true ea81 power!
