  1. Krieky mate those are some huge pics! Do you need to get a new head or do you think that one is ok?
  2. Sorry to hear that Jeff.I guess the only engine that is halfwase doable is the ea81 or ea71.I know that is all I have had experience with myself besides helping someone with an ea82 when I was like 15.I don't know of anyother tips to give you.I know that the er27 is basically the ea82 just more cylinders.Looks alot harder because of the more girth it has.
  3. I agree with blitz.I know it may sound hard to believe that it may be off one tooth, but it can happen and will make a big difference.
  4. Ya but the ultimate would be the subaru justy pistons which would bump it up to 12.5:1 compression! I like the sound of the engine you are building DrKrazy. The spfi block and gen2 heads sounds like a win.I will have to talk to you about when I can stop by to bring your spider.
  5. Dang!!! That sucks man. I would second the notion for helicoil.I am sorry to hear that.
  6. The engine and trans are still made by subaru. The one weak link that I know of is the oil pump.I have heard that it is best to get it rebuilt or buy a new one when purchasing a used justy.Other than that I haven't heard much else to look out for when buying one.I have often thought of looking at one for myself.
  7. Personally I think you should go with the spfi block, and since you said you have the better mpfi heads already I would do that along with your cams which I think would be sweet. Are you going to reseal it when you get the block? Will be an awsome runner I am sure either way you go.
  8. I know you could do it.If you wanted to make it work I would probly just make an adapter plate for the spfi TB.Then just bolt it to the carbs adapter flange.I think that would be easier to do than cutting down the intake manifold off of the ea82.BTW I have a spfi TB off of a '89 wagon if you need one.Would be neat to see a spfi ea71!
  9. Now this is another reason why I need to take a long vacation to New Zeland and Australia.I am sure I could go for broke really quick.
  10. I like it.I agree the H4's would make that much better.
  11. I heard the same thing. So far I haven't seen anything low mileage wise.BTW I believe pull n save is having one of those you pull it and carry it for $20 type of things going on this saturday. So how strong do you feel? Check their website.I heard about that going on off of the radio station 106.7kbpi. http://www.pullnsave.com/
  12. Yes,now that is something i would love to give a try.I am not sure how to wire it in but i am sure it can't be too hard.I may just have to go check one out.I already have the msd blaster ss,so I think the other one would be a good addition.
  13. To get the chrome things off you may just have to drill out the rivets. And to get the adhesive stuff off I have always used a heat gun and some orange oil cleaner, seems to do the trick.
  14. Looks like the trails I used to drive on when I lived in Alaska.Very nice pictures btw.
  15. Really like your cars.I can tell you like black cars.I like the rx and the black brat especially.
  16. Not sure what is available in your area but I recomend ppg. They make pretty good quality stuff.
  17. I would check the coil pack if you can.Or possibly sounds like a bad ground?
  18. Fuel pump possibly. Also I would just replace that hitachi with a weber or go the spfi route.I am pretty sure like Jeff said it is your fuel pump.
  19. Um wow.Would be a long reach for those of us over 6' but definately looks too cool:D
