Subiesport's 1978 DL -- stranded!
Jerry DeMoss replied to ricochet's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Head gasket.I am pretty sure. -
If you ever want to try to fix that problem try the permatex brand headlight restorer.I picked some up at pepboys and tried it on a couple vehicles from work and I have to say I am pretty impressed.Pretty self explanatory. You start with about 1000 grit wet sand paper and end up with around 2500 grit and then use a glazing compound to finish it off.Good stuff.Nice score with your new car.

How is your old motor doing
Jerry DeMoss replied to 7point62fmj's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I definately would be up for trying it out.I have used synthetic amsoil in the past on my 2stroke dirtbike and snowmachine and I have always been happy with the products offered. -
That would be freakin' amazing! I would love to have something like that.

As far as I know the turbo heads don't flow as well as the n/a ones.I think thats why when someone builds up the ej22t block the first thing they do is get different heads. The other thing about the turbo heads is I believe the c/r will drop because of larger comb chamber.Good luck.

I really like that idea.Good thought. -
The ER27 while it is a good engine weighs alot more than your ea82 does.I think you would be better off moddin' your engine a little or replace with a ej22.Just my thoughts.

I really like the rim and tire combo.Looks much better with the mud I agree.

I really like that hatch!Where about did you take those pictures?Looks like a nice area.I really like the roof basket! For carrying camping gear and the wood I like that. How much of a lift on your car and what type of superswampers are those?Very nice!

Hmmm.EJ into an rx?That would be cool.So what ej motor? -
I was at pull n save today and saw a nice brown colored gen 1 wagon. It was parked in the parking lot and looked to be in really nice shape.I wondered if it belonged to anyone off of the board?Looked like it was 4wd. Also in the junkyard was a custom from bumper on a '78 4wd wagon.Kinda rusty on the surface but saveable. Anyway if anyone knows who owns the old suby wagon I saw let me know.I really liked it.

Dang it!!! That sounds sweet! Too bad I won't be able to go.

Some other things to think about when turboing your justy. -May want to replace the oil pump or rebuild it,since those are one of the weak links on that motor. -Might want to add in an oil cooler of some kind since there isn't that much oil to begin with on that engine. Those are just a couple I could think of to begin with. Also are you putting a FMIC or TMIC on that car?

New Colors for 86 Dash
Jerry DeMoss replied to Sonicfrog's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thats funny,I had the same idea for mine. The only difference is I want to paint the tips of my needles with a phosforescent color so they glow.(Used to use that paint for the sights of my gun when hunting in low light.) -
That would be really cool.I would like that with a "V" mount intercooler up front.I would drive it!

That's correct.
