This evening while traveling on SB HWY 285 I got passed by a burgundy color brat right around the wadsworth exit.It looked to be a really nice one.The liscense plate said "86 Brat" and it was a colorado plate. So I just wondered if it belonged to someone on the board?Nice brat to whoever owned this one!

A cruise sounds ok,but what about some offroad trails?Even just a few winding dirt trails would please me. -
Yes you will want the 32/36 DGV or DGEV.If you do a search you will find quite a bit of info on them. You can get them from Redline or carbs unlimited.I know there is plenty of info to be had.The real question is weather or not you want one you will have to rebuild or one that is set up and ready to go.Good luck.

Heres one of my engine with the heads off of it. Also I forgot to add these photos are courtesy of TurboXt who took these with his camera phone. A special thanks to him for giving me an extra hand putting it back together. -
Here is the most recent photo of my hatch. These were take while I was replacing headgaskets.I will get more once I replace my broken camera.

I would like to see if anyone out there has installed wrx or sti seats into their hatch?I know of a nice set of the sti seats.Just wondered how hard they would be to mount?Anyone have some pics? Thanks.

Any new progress Phil? How is that spy conversion going?
-
I think it would be cool to do one of those as a swap.I know that the mounting and what not will be a bit tricky but would be really cool to see it done.Good luck.I think rotaries are a nice engine but if you are going to boost it at all...you better get some better apex seals in there and do a periferal port on the engine to make it come alive.

my intercooler is in finally!

Nice to hear you are able to make some headway. Are you going to have to pull out the motor and use a bfh to make room for the turbo and piping?Good luck with that. -
Depending on the mileage your internals should be ok.I had the same problem on the '86 hatch that I bought.TurboXT and I put new headgaskets on and that made it run like a top. This is just the n/a motor but I am sure it would be pretty similar. Also the motor i have has 187k on it.Good luck.

ea71 into a 1994 Justy? could it be done?
Jerry DeMoss replied to 75subie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Ya you could do it.You would be cutting the fire wall a bit and mounting custom engine mounts.Just depends on how much you want to do it.Also time and money come into play. Also it is the oil pump that gets chewed up on those little 3's. -

Power wire for the distributor from the coil? -
how to tell 1600 from 1800?
Jerry DeMoss replied to nathan_d's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Look for the engine code on the block right next to the distributor.Should just be a little to the left and up from there(If you are facing the engine from in front of the car).If it says ea71 you have the 1.6L and if it says ea81 it is the 1.8L.Probly have the 1.8L ea81 in your car. -
