That would be cool but very scary going up sharp embankments.Looks like it would pop over on its backside really easy. The only thing I think its missing is big side pipe exhaust coming up behind the doors and a mustache bar front bumper.

I really don't think the cam will be that big of an issue. The other good thing is that your brat is an '84....The turbo's came in 83-84 so I am thinking with the years being about the same we should get pretty lucky. Here's my thinking:Turbo cam profile will be shorter duration for higher rpm power. N/a cam will be longer duration for more torque.By how much I am not sure. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If they do line up,bolt pattern wise we can always match port them.I may be going to the JY today or tomorrow to look for Jeep stuff for work so I will see what I can find for sube stuff.

Don't you have a spider intake?I think it would. Can you take some measurements and compare them to your heads on your car now?
-
I was wondering about that.I had thought of how much difference there is between the turbo cam and the n/a one.Anyone know how many degrees differnce between the turbo and n/a?

Plugged accelerator pump or jets. Clean the intake also.Possibly Egr valve.

EA82 Carb to SPFI Swap..few problems but happy
Jerry DeMoss replied to DrKrazy's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Glad to hear the swap went well.I really want to see it.Looks great from the pics you posted. So how did you get around the emissions stuff?I am suprised you don't have to smog it.I would be interested to see what can be done to get around it. -
They both look really nice.I like your white one!Only thing that would make it a little better is a rally roof scoop and a couple rally lights on the front.

For The 100th Time!!!!

That would be my second guess.I forgot about the accel pump which would definately make sense. That would be a good bet. What carb do you have on you car? -

Sounds like your carb may just need to be cleaned out a bit.I suspect that your mid range jet is a little plugged from the sound of it.Since you said that the gets sluggish when you gun it.Check your plugs and see what they look like I am betting that it is leaning out when it decides to die in the cold weather. What carb is on your car? -
What's this part? and help tracing wires
Jerry DeMoss replied to myfinalcoffinx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I am not really familiar with it but I thought those were part of the IAC.Part of the emission control stuff?I am kinda stumped as well.I could just look in my book I guess. -
I like it.I like both designs.I have my own idea on the drawing board.I would like to have a winch mount.
-
I think it would be very cool if you did that.I will help find the heads and intake if you would like.Maybe I can help Jerry rig something. If I could I would like first dibs on your n/a heads from your engine.I should get somemore free time this week since I just finished up on a little remodel project.Let me know if I can help.

I second the try seafoam idea.Works good with almost everything that may have a little buildup on it or in it. -

starting in the morning, car has NO power.

Part of having a carb compared to efi is that the carb cannot atomize the fuel properly till it is warmed up.I had the same deal with dirtbikes or snowmobiles that I have had.I had to do the same thing with the hatch I used to have after I leaned the main jet out.Cleaning your carbs wouldn't hurt either. -
security questions....ideas

Man that sucks to hear that.I have seen some people put the deck under their seat or make the dash recessed so that you can put a false trim plate over the face of the deck itself so it looks like it doesn't have anything there.I have had the same thing happen to me before. -

I can relate to you all.I rebuilt a hitachi suby carb on the living room floor on some newspapers and painted various pieces as I went.My girlfriend at the time thought I was crazy. So is there an upcoming SAA(suby addicts ann.)meeting soon? -
New Subaru Owner Questions
Jerry DeMoss replied to toadleyb's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Welcome.Your rear hatch indicator is most likely worn out and will need to be replaced. Is your car carbed or efi? What other lights are on? Again welcome.
