Under Construction: In the next three weeks, I will find some time to drive from Alki Beach to Chinook Pass and scope the area out. A couple things I will need to take in consideration are: 1) A place to meet up to eat lunch after 1pm before drive to Chinook Pass 2) A restaurant to eat on the way back 3) Detailed directions Map of drive from Alki Beach to Chinook Pass A couple pictures of Chinook Pass The meet will last from 11am till 1pm. At 1pm we will leave to Chinook Pass (Mt. Rainier) for a nice Sunday drive. When time nears, I will figure out a place to stop at for lunch before the drive to Chinook Pass. I'd like to keep this drive under control without any young/old immature drivers please. Last thing I would want to see is one of us wrecking our cars and ruining the day for all of us. Just a couple rules. #1 NO excessive speeding/reckless driving #2 DON'T be an idiot. If you can follow those two rules, there shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure there will be a majority of mature drivers that will be driving carefully anyway. I will make sure to pass out photocopies of directions to get to Chinook Pass from the parking lot at Alki Beach since it will nearly be impossible to stay together. When we get on I-410, we will pull to the side of the road and get everyone back together. The drive from Alki Beach Seattle to Chinook Pass is two hours, but it might take a little longer since we will get something to eat before the drive up and also be in a group. We will then stay up there for at least 30 minutes and drive back down. On the way back to Seattle, we will stop by a restaurant, which I haven’t decided yet. As soon as I have some time to scope the drive out, I will post pictures and give a location of the restaurant with detailed pictures of what to expect on this drive. RADIOS: Everyone bring a Motorola radio if you can. Channel for all of us will be 5. Also, here are a few rules about talking on the radio. It’s very similar the way pilots and air traffic control uses. When you are using the radio, please say the following so we know who’s talking 1) Who you want to talk to 2) Who you are 3) Location 4) Intentions If you need to contact me for any matter, you can call my cell. Location: Alki Beach 3130 Harbor Ave. SW Seattle, Wa. Time: July 9, 2006 (Sunday) Alki Beach Seattle, WA Meet: 11am-1pm Drive: Leave at 1pm from Alki Beach to Chinook Pass Well to everyone that showed up to last years Alki Beach Meet 2005, thank you for making it a great turnout. This year we will be meeting up at the slant where we parked all 2.5RSs for the photoshoot instead of the upper parking lot. We will not be able to use the upper parking lot since I found out its commercial and they would require a $1000.00 fee for one day plus insurance. The slant area is all public with restrooms at the very end in a secluded area. DIRECTIONS THREAD CLICK HERE Myself and others will help park individual cars to get as many cars as possible in this secluded area without wasting space. I calculated out that we can fit around 100 Subarus if we space the cars appropriately.

quote: Subaruman.... is that you in Vudden Salley? Or are you closer to town than that? I've noticed also a couple of lifted ea82 wagons around town that I don't know from the board. I've often thought about askin.. I'm from the Lynden area, but do head up to Bellingham here and then throughout this last week for Christmas. Tomorrow i'm heading back to Eugene where I go to school so you will definently not see me around the area. I drive a blue impreza and not a lifted ea82 wagon if that's what you are wondering. But nope not sudden valley for me. Happy New Yearz

But I do have a Subaru.. Just not a lifted one yet. One day though. Lifted GL wagons look good.

do you have any rear diff protector? I'm pretty sure you don't. since I have one, I jacked the rear of the car and had a rock dig into one of the holes in the rear diff protector and when I drove the car, the rock was rubbing against the rear diff and made an awful rubbing noise. Just something to throw out. Figure out what was it yet? Was it doing it when you were at Toys R US on christmas eve? -
Well thanks for answering my question guys. Didn't know there was that many active members on here from bellingham. Good to hear I know who that guy was (Jeremy) and that this site has some cool peeps. also looks like a lot are from the bellingham area (except 4x4mudrat) Ratty2Austin Baccaruda Turbone soobmater mudisfun uncoolperson scrap487 carfreak85 rollie715 4x4mudrat jibs scott in bellingham sounds like there is enough for a meet.
