  1. thanks much everyone, whers the best place to get the oem belts at?
  2. Really need to change my belts:banghead: ....first....what are the best belts to get and where? is it okay to get them from oreillys or autozone? whats the best way to change them out? I was looking through my chiltons and says that on my carbed 87 GL wagon the timing numbers/marks should be on my flywheel? it says there is a piece that covers it...no piece there, guess the cover was gone a long time ago......dont see any sort of markings anywhere... how do I change the belts and time it if I have no marks:confused: ? Sorry for the noob crap...still in automotive classes...havn't gotten around to this stuff yet. THANKS A MILLION FOR ALL OF THE HELP!!!!!!!!!!.
  3. when rigging up traps and such....like razorblades....you could get into trouble when someone tries to steal it and gets hurt....unless of course you get a sticker or somewhere on the vehicle not a release of liability....like get a sticker mad to put above the deck saying something like....not liable for extreme bodily harm to anyone handaling any components of this vehicle without permission from the owner. I have also like what one of my friends dad did...he just made sure he stuck plenty of large NRA stickers in plain view on his vehicle and stuck a gunrack on the back and tossed a few empty bullet casings in the floorboards and some empty amoo boxes in the back....kind of turns off a few theives when they know they are stealing from some crazy gun nut (even if you dont even own a single gun)...*shrugs*...just a couple suggestions...personally am going to try and set up one of the movement sensor systems through a pulsing (flashing) switch through my fog lights as well as get one of those orange rotating/flashing lights (like construction crews use), and also even some intereor neons as well. Am also planning on getting a nice air horn set up and maybe try to rig it through there as well... SOMEONE will notice.
  4. am on a break in class right now but will check tomorrow after I get off work but I kn ow both belts run around the alternator pulley...when I loosened the bolt onl the alternator ajustment and pulled the alternator up and tightened it both belts felt tight...but now the rear one has alot of slack again. Will get a tool kit asap but have a $-29 balance right now...get paid on friday though.
  5. so any way to put on a weber and still pass emissions tests in texas? Am getting a little tired of the lack of power in the stock setup...suggestions?
  6. sprayed a little bit of the autozone carb cleaner but didnt have the tools to get the air cleaner off so didn't hit it well...will try that asap.
  7. yeah they are two belts that go around the exact same path, has AC...although it doesnt work.
  8. yeah, One time it stopped in the middle of an intersection and I couldn't get it going again so I pulled off my air cover and stuck a screwdriver holding it open, and it started up....so what steps should I take to get it to where it wont do that?? And also the belt closest to the back is wobbling...I tightened them up as best as I could and the one closest to the front is tight but the rear one keeps coming loose, what is the belt called....was looking for the part and there was a left and right hand...which one is the one closest to the rear? THANKS!!!!!
  9. Every time my car has been sitting awhile, especially when I first try to drive it in the morning I have no power, have the accellerator to the floor it and it still barely moves, if I try to go up hill when im first starting out it dies more than once. After I drive it for about 5 mins it drives fine. 87 EA82 carbed wagon....any suggestions? THANKS??
  10. so prices for the christmas buy yet? I found a cheap roof rack at a thrift store for $13...I know its not going to be even close to the quality and practicality of one of the TWB or mudrat ones but it should meet all of my needs....and saving over a $100...am willing to compromise a little bit. Will post pictures after I get out of debt and can afford some fog lights and get it all mounted and pretty.
  11. alright, am really interested to see how they look on an EA 82 wagon, have only seen a set on a brat. (sorry to hijack your thread shady...but at least were giving you bumps right?)

  17. So figured it was time I tested out my 4wd for the first time so I start my wagon, shift it into 4wd high and head for the paintball field, had a great time, everything worked awesome, go to taco bell, stop, and try to shift back into FWD, wont budge, my wheels are straight and everything seems like it should work.....but have tried for about an hour now and cant seem to get it back into FWD.
