alrigght. Was talking to will about it and he seems to think that we could add ingectors to it, dont remember exactly how he said to do it but heard of anyone doing this? Am thinking about just waiting and trying to find a Turbo wagon at a reasonable price within a feasable distance from here and offroading the carbed...but if not would be a good learning experience. Will let you know when I have some time off and can come over....got my work schedule for the next tree weeks and with school starting next monday probably wont have any free time but will see. -

So talking to this guy who is always coming up to my work and we have some big plans. Planning on using my wrecked wagon as a donor doing a carb to SPFI conversion. Adding a turbo, intercooler, and cold air intake with some of the spare parts he has (really cool customer who loves cars and really loved my 1st wagon and wants to help me get my new one looking amazing). And thats just the beggining. So has anyone ever seen any magazine coverage for these vehicles?? He has a couple show cars and we are really going to shoot for the stars on this one... seems to think that will be able to go somewhere with this. -
THANKS!!! So I was reading some of it and does anyone knw how much of a problem it will be to change a carbed 87 4WD manual to SPFI using a 87 automatic 2WD SPFI? The manual says to try and find a donor car with the same transmission...what kind of problems will I run into if I cant find a manual SPFI donor car?
-
oh... if you know where I can get the conversion manual PM me, might forget to check this thread but will definantly check my PM's THANKS
-
any idea where I can get the manual...link not working anymore ???? PM me? Have A carbed 87 AWD 5spd manual wagon and a wrecked FI 87 2wd auto wagon that should have everything I need for the swap right? Know a guy with a couple turbos and intercoolers hes willing to help me adapt to the 4WD wagon but looking to do the FI swap first. any suggestions??

hmmm... how do you adjust the ride on it and how much of a difference in height can you achieve? -

what models came with air suspension? -
so to acheve the lowest ride possible with stock parts would be front 2wd XT struts, rear stock wagon 4wd struts with XT coils? So what is your flashy coilover setup there?? What exaxtly would I need to accomplish something of that nature?

havn't done much research into them...at first thought didn't think that you would be able to get much of a height difference with just air bags..will look into it, thanks for the tip. -

heck yeah... lol then all I would need is a tiny chain steering wheel, some gold rims, and some gold teeth and ill be ready to go bounce around town. Was thinking more about practicality though...could drop it on the ground to get a smile and turn some heads..then when I encounter some speedbumps or need to carry some weight with the flip of a switch can have the clearance I need. -

hmmmm......funnnnnnnn...this might put things off even longer. On saturday I went to a BlindSide concert and accidentally got punched extremely hard in the mouth. up untill now I knew that my lip was busted really bad and my front tooth was loose....but I just went and checked on it to see if its healing because it just feels like its getting worse...and realized something, there is a small chunk of my tooth inbedded in my lip, a portion of it thats about the size of a grain of sugar in the raw is sticking out, tried to move it and see if maybe it would just come out...but it sure wont...funnnnn. It hurts so much even when im not doing anything, but eating and trying to kiss my girlfriend is really fun. I guess I should go see a dentist huh? really dont want to go though because I owe them money, have5!! wisdom teeth that need to be removed, and apparently I need braces as well. Anyways have to be at work in 11 hours so need to get some sleep, night all! -

will asap... my loyale is still overheating on the highways....girlfriends birthday is this weekend....schools starting really soon....still working full time....trying to finish my lil sisters club house...lol...will come over as soon as I can...dont worry. -
think it looks nice....its different...even if the stock lights look nice....if no one ever tried something new and different with there cars we would all be driving around in volvos. I think one of the main reasons why most of the people here are into these subs is because they are a blast to play with....an whenever they drive by someone in their lifted sub covered in mud and that person stares at them....it makes them grin inside. Personally the circles arent my favorite look but its awesome...it certainly got my attention and it looks like it caught the attention of some others....and differences are what get people thinking. Im sure everyone had negative feedback for the first lifted station wagon they noticed... but because someone didn't really mind what everyone else thought..a whole lot of cool things started to spawn from that. hey and most of all, we cant let all of those little mugen cool kids have all the flashy ricing fun....lets get em. If your having fun doing what your doing....then keep on cooking up that rice...im about to put a pot of it on the stove as well, and have a blast doing it.

well havn't seen any like what im going to do, subaru styles sub is amazing:headbang: but am leaning in a different direction. would love to set up a hydraulics system eventually but thats not very feasable for a good while:( . Am going to try to find some places to sponsor/discount my vision after I take a bit more time to plan it all out and get some good concept drawings together. The major bodywork will probably start about 9 months from now...a good friend of mine is currently going to wyotech learning bodywork and customs and will start doing the fancy stuff when he gets back. Will probably start re-doing the interior in a month. I like rambling on and on...dont you? -

trying to pull together some thoughts and ideas... crappy but effective rendering of what im thinking about at the moment. XT strut swap to accomplish drop. 14" black powder coated 8spoke subaru alloys wraped in ___? High gloss black paint job with stoplight green fade to black stripe down the sides. Dark tint on windows. Shaved emblems, door handles, antennas, trim. Smoked out lights. Will probably cut the plastic bumper covers to fit flush with the body. And thats just to start on the outside....whole slew of interior mods.............and much much more. Any comments? -

Advice on redoing wheels
BlindSight replied to Phaedras's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
anyone know of a reasonably priced powdercoat shop in the dallas TX area. The cheapest I have found by calling around is $45 per wheel for blasting and coating. -

thanks for the info styles...guess I will just wait for a set of 14" 8spoke subaru rims to pop up... so if anyone has any suggestions on how to go about locating some of these let me know. oh, is there any way you could take me through the process of swapping the gl 4WD struts with the XT struts?
