Not to sound harsh or anything but i wasnt necassarily directing that to you. more towards people who do not know about this test in general. But none the less good write up. -

A cheap way to do it but doesnt have any guages is to get a hose from a compression tester (the part that goes in the plug hole) screw it in and hook a line from a compressor up and just listen. If the air sounds to be alot more then should then you know where the problem area is. Obviously if you've never done this before you wouldn't know what a lot more then normal air noise sounds like which is why the guage is good. But if u dont feel like blow 40-70 bucks then do it the shade tree way. mike -
Sooner or later, it would have to happen.

Id have to see some kind of diagram to fully understand but i think you want that to go to ground. do you have a fuse in the circuit? if not put one in (have back ups) try ground it if it blows the fuse thats not it. Mike -
Hey man its not that bad. I thought u were gonna say that the car fell off and got destroyed or something. Then id feel really bad for you.

-
For those of you who do rally im there subes im curious as to what body mods have you done to your subaru to help you compete better. Wether it be a requirement or not. What is the best size wheel and tire(brand and size) for rallying. Im thinking in the future i would like to take my car off the road and do some rallying. mike

xforxlifex replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thats good stuff. to bad we dont have that magazine in the U.s. -
I definetly agree. I really dont like the idea of having to replace 1 quart with this stuff. seems shady. oh well im just curious if anyone gave it a whirl.
-
Anyone try this in there sube. Incase you dont know, its an oil supplement. You replace one quart of oil with this stuff and supposedly adds horse power and torque. Im sure thats prolly a crock of crap but out of curiousity has anyone tried this? Mike

I agree with russ. I had the same issue with my rx and i replaced the T stat and the problem cleared up. Like he said cheap and easy. You said that it isnt that old id still give that shot. -
Thats what i was thinking, nice place.

Thats an amazing car. Someone posted about that once before way bad. Its funny cuz for some reason it popped into my head today. Do post more pics if you've got em. What exactly is wrong with it that it needs a lot of work? Mike

Wrx intercooler plumbing
xforxlifex replied to xforxlifex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thanks for the reply luke, But where on earth do i plumb this rather large hose to? somewhere to the tubo inlet? mike -
Plumbing it into an ea82t. I understand about the main plubing (blah blah to throttle ect.) Im a little confused on the plumbing of the blow off valve. The goldish bronzish top part of the bov, that im guessing vents back to the intake manifold? Also the 1 1/2" piece of tubing that comes out the bottom of the bov, what is it for where does it plumb to? mike

NO compression in one cylinder?
xforxlifex replied to dave833's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
how many miles on the motor? sludge, carbon, lash adjustment bad valve seat. I think your best bet is to pull the head off and take a look for your self. there most likely isnt going to be a quick engine in car fix for this.
