  1. Actually it said LDS on the bottle. I'm not kidding. They made fun of me when I called it LSD. Of course one being a drug and the other being the mormons there's a joke either way.
  2. Thanks for all your help. The new ATF with the LDS worked. Drives like new. Looks like as a car gets older the fluid needs to be changed more often. Thanks for saving me tons of money and with a baby on the way in less then a month it was good timing.
  3. Of course I remember you! You're "The Dude". Looks like you were right. Good call. I'll call around and see what can be done. I'll now be taking donations for my new clutch pack. Please send your check or money order to: Mr. Nocknagel Poorman 1600 Pennsylvania Ave Powder Springs, Ga 30127 * Hey WJM, You do this kind of work? Got price?
  4. Is that going to be internal or external? How difficult is it to replace the solenoids?
  5. Thanks WJM. I may just have to do that. However I placed the fuse in the FWD fuse holder and the problem went away. I told my mechanic about that days ago (twice) and for some odd reason he never tryed it. Okay, now what do I do? If the center differential is bad, what must I do to repair it? Thanks
  6. The engine and transmission mounts have been checked. The fwd diff has no play in it. The tires have been properly inflated and rotated. My mechanic has given up and the problem still exists. I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE THE CARE TO THE DEALER. Is there any Subaru machanics in the Atlanta area that are trustworthy? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  7. Thanks for the help. I've looked up torque bind and came up with a few ideas. Sorry about "machanic". I know how to spell it, I just don't know how to type.
  8. *bump* I still need help!! I need my car out of the shop. Please reply. Thanks
  9. It's an automatic. As for the play in the Fwd Differential I don't know but my machanic had it up on a lift checking everything and I'd think he'd of noticed if something wasn't right. But then again I'll ask him tomorrow. I'm guessing there shouldn't be any play?
  10. I'll try to make this as clear as possible. My 1997 Legacy GT 2.5 is having a problem that my machanic can't figure out. Here's what it does: 1. From a stopped position I go to make a turn and the front end shakes and shimmies. No noise. 2. Going straight it is fine. No noise or vibration. 3. While in motion the steering is fine. I can do figure 8's and all seems fine. 4. Brakes look good. 5. Wheel bearings look fine. 6. Problem also happens if I coast forwards or backwards while turning the wheel. 7. No rub marks on the tires. 8. Engine is running fine. 9. Fluids have been checked. 10. The recall spring guard was installed about two or three years ago. 11. CV Joints check out fine. We are at a loss and I do not want to bring it to my Subaru dealer because he's a crook. Can you guys help me? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
