  1. That isn't being done here, just a factual timeline. Same with the other folks who have had a bad deal with this guy recently.
  2. After giving him multiple breaks I must come to the conclusion that he has taken the money and run, although I welcome him living up to his obligation. Here is the trail of events: 10 July we agree on the part price and shipping. -Will get you paypal payment in the PM when I am back home. cool beans, I have literally no money at all, livin in my car at the moment. Parts are in a storage unit. I can ship as soon as you send paypal for sure. Just hit me up as soon as you can. -Justin I paypal'd him and sent along some extra cash offering to buy him lunch for making the trip to mail the part. 11 July he replied Dude! Thank you. That helps so much. That will feed me for three-four days:) I am holding down the collection to send as much as possible to good homes. Wanna do every thing I can to avoid having to throw away all of the 2nd-gen stuff I have collected over the last 8 years. Are there any other blue interior items that I should keep an eye out for? -Justin After that the part never showed and he gave a few excuses along the way: Hey, Sorrry about not getting to you sooner. I was pressure washing and painting a house in a remote location, and was living there while I was working on it. No internet, plus even if I did, I had no way to even buy gas to drive to the post office. I hate telling people that I am not able to follow through with what I said I would do, and was so ashamed that I didn't say any thing at all. Yet not communicating is even worse. I just tried to block it all out, put my head down, and work as much as I could to get my self out of this mess. I have like five things I needed to ship and have been staring at the boxes in my passenger seat for the last week and a half. Finally made enough to get back to even. I can refund or ship it out. Let me know how you want me to proceed. -Justin I tell him to ship it and ask for a tracking number, no reply. I hate kicking a guy while he is down but I am not the only one to send money and get no item, so fair warning to others.
  3. Skankinpickle owes me a part too, I am giving him today to send me a tracking number showing that it shipped. If not, I will comment here and post the communications.
  4. I am rebuilding my distributor and found every part other than the seal that goes between the cap and the body, anyone know who carries it?
  5. @ Subarudude, Never been there, but lots of 355's in the world, only one with 360 starfish in black wheels that I know of. @spaz, Anytime you add 4 inches of mechanical lift plus 2 inches of tires, meaning you put the truck 6 inches higher in the air you are changing your center of gravity, which will impact handling. Changing from car tires to mud truck tires will also change your Baja from being more car like to being more truck like. Is that a disaster, not in my experience, driving a Toyota truck around is great, driving a lifted Baja means having the same or better ground clearance but with much more car like handling. The magic bullet in gaining back stock handling is to throw in set of 20mm wheel spacers. That gets your track width into line with your CG, I can corner at near stock speeds in this configuration. Power, You will take a hit, if proper gearing was available to us we could fix this, since it is not we just have to add more power. I have driven it for two years with the EJ25 and it is liveable for what it is, my bad weather and haul spoob truck. Don't expect to beat V6 minivans in a race up the on ramp. As soon as I finish up the EA81 build for my Brat I will hit the Baja and swap in a Tribeca engine and I am going for the throat with a supercharger, the idea being the Subaru Raptor.
  6. I didn't fab this lift, I only needed a 4in one so why re-invent the wheel. I adapted one that SJR made and let me give it my highest recommendation, works great as a Baja solution. I actually just sold that Lotus last summer (had too many cars) and it ended up as a monster, the TVS supercharger and support gear was as big as the engine itself and I took allot of weight out of it ending up at about 1650Lbs, registered just under 3sec 0-60.
  7. They stay awesome? -And if anyone has an EA81 hydro cam, and/or an EA82 carb intake manifold please PM me!
  8. Just occurred to me I have never posted a pic here of the Baja. Note, the pic from behind is before the new tires, and rerouting the exhaust system, it is just the lift right after it went on.
  9. Documented most things on my site, that I will one day update with the new BRAT and Baja...... http://subarubrat.com/mybrat.htm
  10. I know this post is 3 months old and I often go months to years without posting but this guy has no idea what he is talking about and his pontificating shows that he has never built a single part. Any kind of lift is a compromise, you can throw a 18in kit on a full size truck and that solid axle is still the exact same height above the ground, you can put 2 inches of strut lift on a Subaru and gain 2 inches at the diff. The only thing beyond that that gains ground clearance from the axle of a live axle vehicle or the centerline on an independent suspension vehicle is larger tires. A lift kit alone is only part of the total package. And ground clearance is gained and measured in different places. Lifting the body overall IS effective, it gains you improved approach and departure angles which is an important part of offroading, as is ground clearance from the body to the ground. Here is an example of ground clearance I gained on this BRAT build: Keep in mind that my oil pan is another 8 inches ABOVE that crossmember which has about four times the ground clearance of the stock vehicle. And gee how did I do that without portal axles (which I would totally go for if there was a model out there that didn't need the CVs running in the opposite direction and offered meaningful reduction)? And here is the Baja I have as my household utility vehicle now, it is also use for off roading and has about 3.5 more inches clearance at the centerline and about 6in more at the bumpers, not having the bumpers and rocker panels down low makes the truck much more capable. To answer the OP's original question, contact Scott in Bellingham and tell him you want the same kit that he made for Scott in Virginia, it was a 2000+ 4in kit with the rear lift subframe done in 3 pieces so that the crossbar was a bolt in. I have made allot of custom fab lifts and his work was as good as mine and it was a 2 day job Vs weeks of fabrication!
  11. So the exact circuit I was thinking I might need to build is already in place, nice! ECU will be gently removed and placed in a box with everything else in case I ever want to revert for historical purposes.
  12. I haven't messed with EA81s in forever and I will be keeping this 82 BRAT an EA81 powered truck instead of swapping in something else. I am collecting parts to do a build with EA71 piston with .030 off the heads and a few other tricks. In the mean time since my Weber arrived I went ahead and installed it for better driveability. Having stripped off pretty much all the emissions at this point the only thing that the ECU should still be doing is the carb choke based on water temp right? And it would be easy enough to build a small circuit to manage that. Are there any other ECU functions other than emissions for an 82 that anyone knows of? I have the shop manual but it isn't with me and I am curious now!
  13. For the XT6, you can buy the MAF adapter for the Toyota previa and buy a K&N cone.
  14. Subeman90, you the man, Thanks to you and NKX for making sure we had a ten this year. I am so sorry I had to bow out of planing ubt next year I promise to promote a mega blow out. Moosens, great to see you again and glad your boy made it. Good to see you. Benebob, Great to see you boys and the SVX racer in action. Email me and I will shoot you a pay-pal for the flag's shipping. Melis, Charmed, as always. Hocrest, grinning as always, a gentleman. Unfortunatly for me this Carlisle was a 7 hour visit and not a 3 day blow out but any Carlisle where you get home and say "oh, were home, and your last memory was the flag flapping in the breeze and the cold beer, that was a good Carlisle.
  15. I will be there mid morning myself on Sat. and can stay till about 6:00pm. I just made up a batch of the Whiskey beans that were requested and I will be bringing the flags. I will be happy to leave them up for the club Sat night and Sunday if someone can promise to take them down and mail them to me.
  16. That's no joke. The other day I had to pull one of my mufflers because the core had broken free of it's welds and was making a musical jingle like chains draging. I have also had the starter cover fall off, and the mirrors start to spin. And this is with religious tightening and locktight. You have to want to own a Harley to own a Harley.
  17. Unreal, The STI ate a turbo this past week. The exhaust turbine threw 1 and a half blades and the turbo seized. I overnighted it to the manufaturer and they are doing their best to get it back to me but it looks like slim odds. Looking at the plans, and the weather, one of a few options are likely. I may day trip up on the Harley for Sat and head home that night. Or, the wife and I might come up in the commuter car Sunday morning and stay overnight. I am not sure at thist point. But what is apparent is that I won't be able to bring the grill. Will someone else be able to bring a grill? I can probably still bring some beans and ribs.
  18. 2402 Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals Showfield 1 $25.00 $25.00 ModelYear: 2004 Make: Subaru Model: STI Club: USMB 2403 Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals Showfield- 2nd Vehicle 1 $20.00 $20.00 ModelYear: 2002 Make: Porsche Model: Boxster Club: USMB order number 15637 under Scott Schreiber I apoligize in advance for bringing the Porsche but it is out commuter car and we will probably need the extra cargo space (such as it is). I should be there with the projector, grill, beans, banners and flags and chicken again, we won't be hurting. And again, thanks so much for stepping up when I had to step aside. NKX and Subeman are backbone guys. My son has his final surgery on June 20th and he is appreciating the time I have to devote that has come from the show prep.
  19. Subeman90, have you called Carlisle yet? You can call them and let them know that all registrations with the USMB club are towards that tent. They will get some info from you and once you have the names and reg numbers you fax them into the folks and they give us the tent and club status. As long as they boy is in good shape we will be there so right now it is a yes. I just talked to Beerheart and he IS coming so one more there. He will get me his number as soon as he signs up.
  20. Count me in for 2 cars ( I will post the numbers when I get home) and Beerheart for 1 or two more (I will call him when I get home and get you the numbers). I forgot to mention why the esophogus errosion and such was a big deal. My father passed away from esophegus cancer almost 2 years ago and pre-cancerous cells are nothing to dismiss. Again sorry, but family has been rough all around.
  21. Hello, everyone. I regret to say that I have to bow out of any planing for this year's events. I see that the brothers have stepped up already and I am sending them each a thank you directly. We have had some fairly serious medical issues in the family lately. My son has had some complications from his appendicitis and has had a few trips back to the hospital. About the time that was over I started having chest pains and dizzyness along with some other symptoms. After it was all sorted through it turns out that my heart is strong as a bull and healthy but some esophegus problems with symptoms that resemble a heart problem had me running throught the hoops. And unfortunatly while all this has been going on my mother in law as had her own more serious medical issues. I hope you all can forgive me for dropping the ball on this one but it has been a hell of a few weeks since I last stopped in. I hope to attend Carlisle this year but we will probably bring up the STI and Porsche but not the BRAT and the Lambaroo will definatly not be ready.
  22. I have to offer up an aoplogy to everyone, my son has been in the hospital with a ruptured appendix and home life has been chaos. I WILL have the website released soon and we can get this show on the road. I have the Carlisle paperwork in hand and we ARE registered as a club, that is all taken care of. Details to follow.....
  23. Long strory short, my son is out of the hospital from a battle with appendicitis, I have been working my rump roast off and it is time to unwind with my Subie brothers. ALL are invited. Sat at noonish 11108 N Windsor CT Bealeton VA 22712 for your MapQuest Pleasure. 540-439-4959 The Arcade will be open: http://www.subarubrat.com/arcadeandauction.htm BYOB for the most part, meat and such will be on hand.
  24. I didn't mean to amplify the problem by using the word ricer. I will keep my opinions about whineyass's and being offended to myself (NOT directed at 05STI or Subeman90). On to more important matters about showing/......!!!! There is a "invitational showing" for some cars, say a 1958 SAAB, or a Diablo VT kit car, where you are competing for recognition of having an assembly line perfect car. The majority of the show, and certainly our club area on the Show Field (how confusing) is NOT in any competition, just parked out for others to see and check out.
